Dungeon Defenders Eternity is a revamp of the original Dungeon Defenders with new features, and cross platform play with mobiles too.

When it was first released we stayed away from mentioning it due to such terrible reviews, but it seems a lot of the initial launch issues have been sorted. To be frank they did a dick move by advertising it as having single-player and then when they launched it they removed that notice from their Steam page, and they then added it back in with a big notice on why they took it out.

I wouldn't buy it yet though, as it seems it didn't get enough testing and most Linux gamers are getting a black screen. All games have teething problems, but when it's the exact same issue across multiple computers then enough testing was not done pure and simple.

I recently bought Dungeon Defenders + All DLC on a big sale at the Humble Store, trying to find a Linux replacement for Orcs Must Die.

I think it's a very odd move to say : "Hey, our game was buggy, but instead of properly finishing and patching it, we are releasing a new game that's pretty much the same but improved and with the bugs fixed"
I was pretty happy with Dungeon Defenders, it's a good game, even if I still prefer Orcs Must Die, but I recently learned that some things that seemed normal to me (mana gems not falling and the player not being a "gem magnet" ) where in fact Linux-only bugs. I hope they fix them one day, for free, as it should be.
Oh, and another reason I would not buy the game : even in single player you have to be online, and have another registration on top of your Steam one. You can't play local.

Same here. It's the exact same reason I didn't buy Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2 - Single and and lan play should never ever have an online dependency. I also posted a comment about this in their "we put single player back in" post.
