GamingOnLinux Turns 5 Today!

By -
That's right folks I have now officially been doing this for 5 years and hope to be doing this for another 5!

I honestly never thought we would even get 10,000 views in one month and now that we hit well over 100,000 I couldn't be happier.

For those that don't know we originally held a .info domain of the same name, but let it expire in favour of our .com. The domain was snapped up in a matter of hours by some gambling group hah oops.

It's crazy to think how the Linux gaming landscape has changed over these past 5 years. From getting excited about Osmos being ported to Linux and then a massive wave of indie games seemed to cram through the gates, and then being where we are now with games like Civ & XCOM.

So, here's to many more years of doing what we do! Remember you can write articles for us any time and we encourage you to do so.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this, retweeted, shared us and generally done anything even remotely to help us. Big thank you to Levi for keeping our server alive and everyone else!

Our Samsai might even be doing a special GOL Birthday streaming event, so, stay tuned for wise words from our casting master.

There will be cake, balloons, and me drunk on the floor somewhere.
Okay that last bit is a lie I was totally unprepared for today, woops. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Congratulations. With some luck this blog will continue working for a lot more years, at least enough to release the announcement of Half-Life 3 for Linux.
