After a rather long delay Dustforce now joins the many Linux games available to install and play on Steam. Dustforce originally came to Linux in 2012 thanks to the Humble Indie Bundle 6.

It's another indie platformer, but a highly rated one that a lot of people seem to like and something about sweeping...it's a little bit on the stylish side too.

It's currently an opt-in for testing:
QuoteWe have the Steam Linux build ready to go, just want to test it before we make it public.
It's under private beta in steam, go in to Properties for Dustforce, then Beta, and enter the password asdfasdf
Let me know how you go, thanks!

Check it out on Steam, or buy it from them directly for a DRM free copy and a Steam key.

Is it still supposed to be a beta version? I can install and run it from Steam directly, no need to opt-in for anything (I don't even have a beta tab in the properties of the game).

Great job. Now all we need on Steam is Wizorb, BIT.TRIP.RUNNER, Jamestown, Vessel and Torchlight.

Damn, that bundle is low on steam

Hopefully this kind of stuff will happen on GOG as well. Capsized doesn't even have the Mac OS client on GOG currently.

It is almost completely up to developers whether they decide to sell Linux or Mac build on Steam, GOG or any other store. Often legal issues stay in way of doing so, often it is simple laziness. But if there is anyone to blame, it is developers.
