Today is Sunday, so that means generally there isn't much news (that isn't personally backlogged!), so today something different.
A question for you the community, what have you been playing recently and have you enjoyed it? Start recommending good games to your fellow Linux gamers
With all the games we have on Linux now my own personal library of games has grown to incredible levels.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Dark Souls....Dark Souls and Dark Souls...and yet "Sir u are being hunted!" ^_^

Sir, You Are Being Hunted.
Enjoyed it.
Mount and blade Warband. Very disapointed by the fighting system. Too simple.
XCOM : Ennemy Unknow. Enjoyed it. Probably my third favorite game.
Europa Universalis IV, the same.

The swapper, The cave, Witcher 2 and inter stellar marines now that the mouse bug is mostly fixed. Also planning on playing some deponia once they get release out that actually work.

Mostly Half Life 2, DOTA 2, Overgrowth, and the free weekend for Mount and Blade: Warband. Everyone knows the first two, Overgrowth is a good fighting/semiparkour game, and Mount and Blade is an RPG, essentially. It's like Civ with the whole "Just one more _____" thing.

Mostly Bridge Constructor and Race The Sun.
Race The Sun is a very addictive racing - arcade game.
And Bridge Constructor.. well, it's all on the name.
Planning to get back to EU4 when I get more time, and to Mount and Blade Warband, which I played so much on Windows. The beta did not work for me, hope the final version does.

Quoting: Armand RaynalMount and blade Warband. Very disapointed by the fighting system. Too simple.
Too simple, in which way ? Too easy to win, or not enough options ? If it's the second, you may try some mods like Floris, which add a lot of options in combat.

Shadowrun Returns.
I enjoyed a lot.
Cards City Nights.
If you don't mind its naive looks, it's good as a card game.

Got a Geforce GTX 770 a few days ago so I´ve been benchmarking it with various games, have yet to be disappointed by the performance. But the games I´ve played the most is Civ 5, Metro:LL, which finally seems to work without crashes. I´ve also given some hours to ETS 2, despite having over 200 hours in it already, but with the new GTX 770 I can play it with everything set to ultra and have 400% scaling, looks fantastic!

Due to new releases and the summer sale, I've got new
* Limbo
* Papers, Please
* Civilization V
* XCom EU & EW
* Deponia
... and while I'm pretty sure that all of these are great games, I didn't play anything but XCom, although I already had played EU for over 60 hours on Windows. It's _very_ addictive.
... and now going back to kick some alien's butts.
Or let mine be kicked, whichever comes first. ;o)

I have been playing:
Synergy with my husband, allows you to play though HL2 in coop mode, lots of fun.
BattleBlock Theater, which is a nice fun game to play with a controller, something to play to relax.
Mount & Blade: Warband which I am finding a bit laggy on MP so have been put off, not sure why at the moment, need to look into it further.
Interstellar Marines, finding this very fun now that the mouse issue was fixed, the community around this also seems pretty laid back and acceptable of newbies.
Little Racers STREET, another great game to relax and use a controller with.

That would be nice. I was fairly high level Vanu when I gave it up back in July last year. It's a fantastic team game, but needed just a bit more teamwork mechanic - you only really saw engineer/max combos working typically. The other classes don't really "fit together" if you know what I mean.
As for what I've been playing - Guacamelee took me totally by surprise - it's absolutely superb. It's up there with Dust: An Elysium Tale actually in terms of fighting mechanic. Better, even, as it's more predictable and therefore skills-based.
Just finished XCOM:Enemy Unknown and I'll give it a short break before starting Enemy Within. Other than that, I've played a little bit of Dustforce which is decent, and a lot of Killing Floor - the new mission-based map is great fun and I love the new wave map too.

Some more obscure games I played:
The Heroes Rise trilogy. A text-only game in the style of a choose-your-own-adventure book about superheroes. I loved it. The game scripts are readable (ChoiceScript), so I had double the fun peeking behind the curtains.
Journal. A cute little game about being a teenager. A bit pretentious, perhaps.
Heileen 2. While the first part of the series was okay, the second one was...not good. Magic tarot cards that come out of nowhere (you literally find in the sand on the beach), questionable moral lessons, choices leading to completely disconnected outcomes, a stupid/naive main character, .... I really regretted buying that game.
Redshirt. Funny and interesting at first, it IMHO quickly falls apart and feels like a grind. At the end I found myself wondering why I play. The Wot I Think on RPS is spot-on, I feel.

Not enough time, such a backlog of games! Especially short of time this week but I am nearly at 300 hours for "Sir, You Are Being Hunted"
