Exciting news readers! Halfway the beautiful looking science fiction space strategy game is going to be released this month, and they have a shiny website for the game now.
I love a good bit of sci-fi, and when it looks as well built as Halfway then we are in for a real treat with this one. We have covered it a few times, but they never had a proper website for it. No more though, as they have a brand new website.
The trailer sells the game really well, and the tactics really do remind me of the XCOM games which is a good thing. We do have a fair few strategy games like this now, but not much comes close to how beautiful Halfway looks.
The game will launch on the 22nd of July at $12.99/£9.99 with a -10% launch discount. It will be on your favourite stores Steam & Humble, so be sure to keep an eye out on GamingOnLinux for the release announcement next week!
The developers are really nice too, as we interviewed them and found out a bit more last year.

Halfway is a turn-based strategy RPG taking place a few hundred years into the future. Humanity has begun to colonise new worlds and until now, they were alone…
In Halfway you take control of a small team of survivors faced with a violent invasion onboard the colonial vessel Goliath. As their leader you will guide them through the dark and cramped corridors of the ship to slowly take back the control.

The game looks truly beautiful, particularly the light effects. It looks very interesting too. I’ll definitely pick this up because I’m a sucker for sci-fi themed films/games (too) and I like the style of Halfway.

Really looking forward to this one. Sadly, I'll be away on holiday when it releases, but it'll be insta-buy when I'm back at the end of next week. Been tracking it since forever (through GoL and their sadly neglected dev blog) and can't wait to finally play it. Great news.
