I think we can all agree Killing Floor 2 is going to be awesome, but how awesome? See this new trailer with some fresh footage. That's all in-engine footage as you might be able to tell and it's looking very nice.

While Killing Floor may have a few issues here and there which Ryan "Icculus" Gordon states he still plans on getting around to fixing this new one is a in-house port as we here at GOL were able to get confirmed for you (see the bottom of this article).

For those that don't know Killing Floor is a zombie shooting game based on different waves of zombies you have to survive. As you kill zombies you gain money to buy better weapons during the game. It's not a survival game like DayZ, Project Zomboid and others, but a FPS round-based shooter.

Who is excited about this one then? I sure am. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It looks like a fun game, but I am one of those that did not have much luck with the first game. However, if the second one works better, I will certainly pick it up.

Quoting: GuestMeh... As stated in the article, the first one is still buggy (textures issues...), so I'm going to stay clear of the second one.

What makes you think it will be like the first one

A few of the enemies in this seem a bit samey, but I remember having enough fun with the original. I'll keep an eye on it.

What make you think it won't?

As you note yourself, different engine, different team, support from day zero (pardon the pun) - not a port.

But sure, yeah, wait until it comes out and see how it plays for others. That's valid if you have concerns. But I think too many people are equating "Linux support from day one" with "Ported from Windows from day one". Which is wrong - if it's ported from Windows, you have valid concerns. But it's built for multi-platform from inception, that's a different story.

I won't wait though. I'm too invested in Killing Floor and too excited about this release. It'll be a day one purchase for me - I'll take the risk. I'll be your guinea pig!

Which bugs? I used to have missing textures on all the floors, the screaming chick used to look like silver surfer, the flashlight used to cause serious graphical corruption. None of that happens for me anymore. Which drivers are you using?
