Thanks to the community a bunch of demo games built in Unreal Engine 4 now work on 64bit Linux, so give it a try! The current Unreal Engine only supports 64bit Linux, so remember that if you plan to try the test games.

There's still a lot of work to do to get Linux supported fully in the Unreal Engine ecosystem like UnrealFrontend, the Editor (although the community has done work there), but it doesn't look like 32bit will be officially worked on due to Unreal themselves focusing on 64bit.

I especially like this:
QuoteWe would like Unreal Engine 4 on Linux to have the same recognition as Windows and OS X platforms. Our hope is that 3rd party vendors will include Linux when making plugins, addons, or Middleware for it.

See the wiki page here for the games. I tested out Tappy Chicken, Swing Ninja and the Mobile Temple tests and all ran great on my machine, so that's already made me feel good about the future with Unreal Engine. See a screen-shot below:image

I hope the progress on it all doesn't slow down. In the wake of bad news coming from Crytek we need Unreal Engine.

If you try any of the tests let us know how they run for you. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

@Admin,

I think your sites visitors / commentors has suffered since you let that spam kiddie force you into removing guest comments.

If its true he only was spaming from home, You should have simply isolated his IP address and "blacklisted" it from viewing the website at all.

Anyways, perhaps I don't have all the facts, but that's how I see it .02 It took me 2 weeks to register and many others I'm sure won't register at all just because the pain in the ass it is.

Or you could have simply setup Disqus which can sync comments with various CMS like WordPress and probably Drupal as well.

Like I said - just .02, good job on everything else.

+1 for Disqus! :)

Blocking an IP does nothing when such spammers rotate their IP address with ease. Disqus will also not happen as it will be handing all our our data over to a 3rd party and I will literally have no control over it if anything ever happens to them.

I appreciate the feedback however, but feedback should be left in the forum not a random article comments ;)

Fair enough, Liam. So back to the topic, how should Nvidia 600 series cards handle this?

-1 for Disqus. It's a horrible piece of carp that's only topped by IntenseDebate and (*gag*) Discourse.

Man this is just awesome.
All demos worked flawlessly on my rig, even in windowed mode, and they look mighty good too.

Try the sci-fi scene: You can even read the small words on the poster!

Yes, they work fine on my desktop with a GeForce GT 630. At leas the Mobile Temple does.

Very different visuals from what you usually see.
But yeah, the HDR takes some getting used to, and the motion blur makes me sick.

Also, it's a bit weird seeing the mirror effect vanish right at the edge of my FOV. Especially noticable when turning quickly and the mirror effect needs an extra frame to appear.

How did you test them mate ?
