I'll start with the good news: Pillars of Eternity is releasing a beta for those who backed the game through Kickstarter. The bad news is that it will only be available through Steam. The worse news is that it is for Windows only so far. There is hope though as the project lead Josh Sawyer said
"We are working hard on bringing Mac and Linux to you guys in the next few weeks".
Keep an eye out at GOL to see if that does happen. We sure hope it does.
If you haven't heard of Pillars of Eternity and enjoy old school RPG games I really suggest checking it out. Obsidian has made some really good games in the past such as Neverwinter Nights 2, Alpha Protocol, KOTOR II, Fallout New Vegas and South Park: The Stick of Truth.
There is still time to back the game if you want to.
When the game is released copies will be available on Linux, Mac and Windows through Steam and GOG and also a "to-be-announced platform for DRM-free distribution coming soon for Linux. Stay tuned!".
Anyone know what that refers to?

is 35 the game + 25 the addon for early access..... thats a bit too much for me :o
That line was written before GoG supported Linux.
And from what I played of the beta, I can understand why they only concentrated on the Windows version for an early beta release; the beta is extremely buggy.
I have been very happy indeed with the beta (now gamma!) of Planetary Annihilation, which was playable the first day I got it (note that I did not say "winnable") and which I also supported on Kickstarter.
And that's one old video, from back when it was PROJECT Eternity...:-)
