Pixel Piracy is not anything to do with piracy, so they may be a let down for some of you. It's actually a rather fun game about little pirate's and building your own pirate ship! Now where's me rum?
Note: You need to opt into the Linux beta to actually get the Linux version to downloads, so they still don't think it's ready for prime time just yet.
This "1.0" update is pretty huge and actually includes an End Game, so it gives you something to look forward too. It includes massive improvements across the board like pirates no longer poop if they are below 50% hunger, and a lot more too.
You can see a previous game-play video of it we did on Linux here:

Since then there has been a lot of important changes, and there is a lot more content. The game does suffer one problem though, and that's the weird graphical effect they use that makes everything blurry it really annoys me, strains my eyes and makes the game not be as fun as it would be without it. I hope they put an option in to turn it off in future.
You can help that a bit by turning the depth of field option right down, but it's still a little blurry, and I imagine it's done to make the pixel graphics look a bit smoother.
You can also check out some previous thoughts on it.
Be sure to check out Pixel Piracy on Steam.

i must wonder tho.. with almost every steamforum post beeing related to random gamebreaking bugs and reports that the game is next to not playable because at some point something crucial will just stop working, why would they release the 1.0 version now.
with my first pc game ever beeing sid meyers pirates! i would love to buy this game, but the lot of bad reviews and negative forum threads keep me from doing so
