A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 Released For Linux

A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 from Arcen Games are now available on Linux, and that folks is their entire back catalogue ported to Linux. I hope other developers are taking note of how amazing Arcen Games are. We quite often see people say that developers would rather bring out newer games to Linux, but not in this case!

They were both released for Linux in July, but we got swamped and decided to delay posting about them for a bit.

They are both action platformers with certain RPG elements mixed in with different spells to acquire and lots of jumping to do. They aren't the prettiest of games, but they are interesting for those of you looking for something a bit different in a platformer. There is a lot of customization with many different abilities to find, so the longer you play the more you will find.

The land is procedurally generated too, so no game will be the same in either.

The second one has more progression with a proper begging, middle and end to the game, so if you're looking for a less sandbox experience you will probably prefer the second one.
The first game does pretty much throw you in it without any sort of explanation which the second game does much better.

They both feel a bit like Starbound only without the construction side of it with much more focus on action and killing.

If you're looking for an action platformer that's a bit different then you should check them out for sure.

Both games also available DRM-free at Arcen Games' website.

PS: Unfortunately they seem to have forgotten about Desura as they haven't uploaded any Linux build of their games there. :(

Also if you buy it on their website you get the DRM free version AND a Steam key AND for me it's a bit less expensive (but Steam prices depend on the country so that may not be true for everyone).

I got these in a bundle on Indiegala months ago & never got round to installing them, I'll have to do it now as they look pretty good. I've just noticed I'm missing three of their games so they're now added to my wishlist ready for when I have the cash.
