Cannon Brawl Blasts Onto Linux, It's Really Good

Cannon Brawl has just been released for Linux and quite rightfully deserves a write up, as it's really quite fun. The game has just moved out of Early Access after the Linux version was released, so time to take a peek at the beast.

To me Cannon Brawl feels like a godly mix of Angry Birds, Scorched Earth and a Tower Defence game all in one and it's quite something. You are tasked with destroying the other players castle using towers you fire and build manually using your fancy airship all while trying to expand your territory to prevent the enemy from placing towers closer to you.

I've played a bit of the campaign now and it hooked me right away for the unique blend of mechanics. I can honestly say I've not played a game quite like it, and I am really enjoying my time with it. It's a really satisfying feeling upgrading your towers and launching a massive bomb all the way across the map to smash the enemy's castle back into the stone age.

I can honestly say that Cannon Brawl is one of the most interesting games I've played in quite some time.

Official About
Cannon Brawl is an exciting mix of real time strategy and artillery gameplay. Command your airship to capture gold mines and build everything from cannons to lasers. Drop attack buildings from your airship, then pop into them to take skill shots at your opponent in real time. Upgrade each building to boost its devastating power. Advance across the kingdom in single player to unlock and discover new buildings, then experiment with each one to find your favorite combination in online multiplayer.

I seriously think you should check out Cannon Brawl on Steam or Humble Store. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It’s still in early access, and there’s no demo :(.
Worry not for I have a press key! This is scheduled for my next week's GOL Cast.

Looks a bit like worms too! Might pick this up if it goes a bit cheaper, decent multiplayer games are few and far between on Steam.

Looking forward to that :)
