Commander Keen in Keen Dreams a classic game from another era has been open sourced and is on github.

Find it here on github, and it's under the GPL too.

This comes as a result on an indiegogo campaign to purchase the rights to it, and to get it open. It's great to see another crowdfunding campaign deliver.

You still need to legally acquire the data (please don't be a pirate).

I never played the keen games as a younger man, so this has made me a little more interested in it. I hope it has stood up to the test of time, as not many do. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I loved the Keen games in the early 90s but playing them today without the nostalgic background will probably not be very enjoyable :)

If you want to give the games a try there's http://clonekeenplus.sourceforge.net/ btw which works great.

Oh man Cosmo.

Always great when old stuff goes open source although keen dreams is the weakest of the keen games. It would be much more interesting if the other keen games would be open sourced.
