We already knew that the Linux version of Divinity: Original Sin wouldn't be out at the same time as Windows, but we didn't know when at all. Users have been asking them about it a lot recently and they still claim it's going to be this year.
It's great to see them communicate openly about it and not being all closed up like some other developers.

@hamster_ It should be this year still - it's done by same team that does the Mac version & they just finished the App Store version.

I backed them for a Linux version in kickstarter.... They were VERY mum on the Linux port only to admit they weren't porting it and it would "hopefully" be out sometime this year... I will never back another Larian campaign. They handled the Linux community terribly with no word for weeks and weeks. I doubt the editor will be ported since it's not an in house port. So dissapointed because these guys were SUPER on top of the community during the campaign. Kept us informed with E-mails about every little delay before the open beta.

PS: Bordelands Pre-Sequel and Civ Beyond only next year to be ported to linux...probably!

I am playing Shadowrun and am really happy with it. I'll undoubtedly give Original Sin a try when it comes out.

I'm waiting for it. It's a different style game than Wasteland 2 / Torment Tides of Numenera but it should be fun nevertheless. I like Divine Divinty and this prequel should be even better.

While I think boob plate looks ridiculous, I think bringing up the realism argument stupid in a fantasy game. You might as well complain about stuff like your characters moving around in normal speed wearing plate armor.

Actually, people could walk perfectly normally while wearing a set of plate mail. They could even dance, swim, and mount a horse wearing the stuff. The weight was distributed across the body, rather than concentrated in one place like a heavy backpack or something similar, so it wasn't all that difficult to move around in.
The biggest problem with plate mail isn't the the weight, it's the heat, and the chafing. They didn't have balms and baby powder back then, either. It was a hellish time to live.

I think the larger problem is that it's a bit alienating to (some) female players when the female player character is dressed like a strumpet. (This is not to suggest it's as confronting as some games might be The point is that the way the game was promoted was entirely unnecessary given this is a great RPG with a great plot, not some cheesy game like Risen.
If the characters and their interaction (one of the game's strong points) is really well developed why present the game in a way which will potentially make a significant part of your audience think "maybe this game isn't really meant for me".
Also, for the male players we aren't all 13-year-old boys any more. We aren't playing it because there's a girl in a platemail bikini on the cover. It's just a bit unnecessary, and juvenile isn't it?
