Metro: Last Light Redux has been updated on the SteamDB to include some Linux information, so it seems the developers are working on getting it sorted.
UPDATE, this was just added too:
It will be interesting to see if we have any more graphical options, as opposed to the unhelpful slider in the original Last Light on Linux.
About
Metro: Last Light Redux is the definitive version of the critically acclaimed ‘Metro: Last Light’, rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine for Next Gen. Newcomers will get the chance to experience one of the finest story-driven shooters of all time; an epic adventure combining gripping survival horror, exploration and tactical combat and stealth.
This definitive version also includes all previously released DLC, adding 10 hours of bonus single-player content to the huge solo campaign. Fans of the original game will notice new features and gameplay improvements, including new melee animations, the ability to check your watch and ammo supplies on the fly, and new full-body player animations.
Metro 2033 Redux was also updated on the SteamDB recently, so we should be able to expect both sometime soon. I am much more excited for 2033 Redux since we don't have the original on Linux.

I'm so glad it is looking like it will be sooner rather than later! I have the steamdb entries for both of them bookmarked and check them probably more often than I should ;)
It's killing me knowing the data is there, but I can't have it! Wish they would open up testing to the linux community.. or maybe just us here at GOL? I can understand not wanting to open up a beta for the win crowd.. but everyone knows the linux crowd tends to be very useful when it comes to testing and bug reports.
as for "It will be interesting to see if we have any more graphical options, as opposed to the unhelpful slider in the original Last Light on Linux." all signs point to them going for feature parity with the win and linux versions this time so I sure hope so. I'm just hoping that they do in fact look the sameish and that performance on linux blows windows out of the water.
My buddy was over yesterday and I used his steam acct on my win install to load it up and try it out. Settings maxed -SSAO -vsync and @ 5760x1080 I was running at 40-50ish fps most of the time. Not awesome, but honestly better than I thought my ageing rig was going to handle it. I only played for a few minutes, but it looks great overall.

I just purchased deadfall on steam based on your statement, and it's %75 off for the next 15 minutes. Hope you're right! Reviews are mixed but I like "tomb raiderish" games and indiana jones.. how bad could it be? ;)

I'm not sure if I see it right, but it seems that both Last Light and 2033 are now available. (in the public branch).
Edit: Oh yeah, I refreshed the page on Steam and the Tux is there.

Great news!
Let's see what OpenGl-4 has to offer! :)
I did find out, about a week ago that both SteamDB linux folders had data in them. 8 and 7gb but nothing about a Tux icon.
Because I didn't own the game, I couldn't try it out because I didn't want to take the chance of giving up my sale to Windows... Oh well...
