SNOW is an upcoming free to play, open world winter sports game that is going to use CryEngine and the developers sent a little teaser out.

It will be interesting to have a game like this, and I can't think of any open world game like it, can you? The game is going for an authentic experience on the snow, so it won't be an arcade-style racer that's for sure.

You even get to customize you character because who doesn't like to stand out a little bit? I look forward to being as pink and annoying as possible while leaving you all in my dust as I traverse mountains.

We are following the project with great interest and will update you all when we get more information. The game is currently on Steam in Early Access for Windows, so this is a good sign that Linux support could land pretty soon. As usual we highly suggest not buying into it until the Linux version is out to avoid disappointment.

Official About
SNOW is the only winter sports game that offers the most authentic riding experience in a massive open-world mountain.

SNOW offers users the ability to customize their characters from entire catalogs of the biggest real-life brands, dynamically reshape the mountain as they want, or compete in real-life events alone or against friends.

Help us make SNOW the best title it can be by joining the Early Access now! During the development phase we will work with the community to extend and improve the game, leading up to the free-to-play release in 2014!

Awesome Demo, I would love more Skate & Snow games on Linux.

Being physically engaged is one of the only things that gives me the mental harmonious sync and clarity that I need when I program.

So by that notion, I would love sports games like Snow & Skate on my Linux box.

I can't wait to try this out. Graphics look great, and it would probably give me a reason to use my 360 controller. I know they said this would be realistic, but wonder if anyone will make a mod to turn it into something like 1080 snowboarding on n64 ;) Cryengine is mod-able I believe, so that would be FANTASTIC IMO. I use to enjoy the hell out of that game.
