The Witcher 2 for Linux is now fully DRM-free and available to buy from GOG, but be warned the GOG team accidentally put up an older version.
Our contact at VP who did the port let us know GOG are aware of it and will issue an update soon, so no need to fret. Looks like GOG dropped the ball on this one, but it should all be sorted soon.
If you haven't seen it yet, see our recent post on the latest beta of The Witcher 2. The performance difference between this first release and the current beta are awesome. Well done to VP for sticking at it and turning it around.

QuoteGOG Version
We see that GOG.com have chosen to release The Witcher 2 for Linux on their store. Unfortunately, they did not have the latest version before publishing.
As they have packaged the game as one huge download, we decided that as well as sending them the latest build, we would make the new files available for public download. You can download them here:

unfornately Witcher 1 doesnt show any key in Steam only Wt2.
You can contact GOG / CDPR about it. They can probably help with figuring it out.

It seems that here, and if you have valid game keys, you can get a GOG copy of both the first and second Witcher. A friend told me that the link worked for his steam versions(never tried it, I bought the games again). You're right! I forgot I already did this and seem to already have Witcher 2 on GOG (even tho I have the Steam linux beta version installed).

Well.
I installed the game and applied the patch.
The performance is disapointing.
Phenom II X4 905, 4 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 260 (192) with 896 MB, SoundBlaster X-FI Titanium.
The monitor is an old 17" TFT of 1280x1024 pixels.
On Windows the game's framerate is stable at High.
On Linux, at Middle Settings it's unplayable.
I also got a crash when exiting the game.
