GOG Now Have Over 100 Linux Games, New Classics Include Baldur's Gate

GOG are becoming more useful for Linux gamers, as in the last week they have hit over 100 Linux games on their store!

New games include (but more probably added since):
Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga - first time officially on Linux!
Baldur's Gate 2 Complete- first time officially on Linux!
Planescape Torment- first time officially on Linux!
Broken Age
Brutal Legend
Costume Quest
F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter 2.0- first time officially on Linux!
Psychonauts

Psychonauts is probably my all time favourite game so it's nice to see it finally getting a Linux version on GOG. I already own it both there, on Humble and on Steam though. Would have been nice to get a choice between the classic and modern versions though, but that's probably never going to happen.

F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter 2.0 <3 Oh man does that bring back some memories! Going to assume it is using dosbox, guess Ill find out here shortly I'm purchasing it now.

I was having an impossible time setting up the BG2/IWD2 games in wine due to their installer. This is great news I have been dying to play them again... especially since I own multiple copies of IWD2 I have been looking forward to playing them again. Downloading now will let you know how it installs tomorrow getting too late tonight.

I downloaded Planescape and Baldurs Gate 2, and both had no sound. Oddly, the same games, run via PlayOnLinux, had sound. Trying to figure this one out.

The specs do say that 14.04 is required; to get the sound working they say to:
sudo apt-get install libasound2:i386 libasound2-data:i386 libasound2-plugins:i386

The earliest Ubuntu release to include libasound-data is 13.10. I'm running Precise on a Chrubuntu Acer C7.

I just tried to install Planescape with PlayOnLinux, and this wasn't the first time I had done that. This time, POL crashed.:><:

Come on, get your facts right before publishing misleading articles: At least Baldur`s Gate is not a Linux port, it is a standalone Wine installation, wrapping the Windows exe, like PoL. I suspect most of the older games are wrapped this way. Nothing wrong with that, except the term "first time officially on Linux!" implies something like an official Linux port of the game.

I suspect most of the older games are wrapped this way. Nothing wrong with that, except the term "first time officially on Linux!" implies something like an official Linux port of the game.

It's the first time officially on Linux because they're supporting it on it- and you can legitimately purchase it under Linux. Before, you bought it under Windows and did it all of yourself instead of with an install you can purchase and run.
