The Wine Development Release 1.7.30 Is Now Available.

Wine development team was able to produce a new experimental release today. 1.7.30 bringing many new features and as many as 50 bugfixes.

A new issue of World Wine News is also available: #378

The few most interesting features introduced in this release:
  • More support for fonts in DirectWrite.
  • Improved ATL thunk support.
  • A few more C runtime functions.
  • Regedit import/export fixes.
  • Various bug fixes.

I'm glad wine development moves forward. But cmon.. F#ck fonts and text. Get on the ball with dx10/11.

You could help them. Wine isn't run by a company; it's a community project, so you can easily contribute.

However, even the company that keeps Wine alive isn't working towards DX10/11 support (CodeWeavers). I purchase CrossOver regularly and always hope that will be their main goal. DX12 is around the corner, and we're still at DX9 in Wine.

In all honesty, if I had the expertise, I would assist in this project. Frustratingly, knowing OpenGL and DirectX to that degree requires being in that field as a job to sufficiently partake in this.
