Red Thread Games, who recently released the first book of Dreamfall Chapters, received a grant from the Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) this week to continue work on their upcoming horror folk tale game Draugen.

Last year Red Thread Games received $125,000 for their first person horror game Draugen. Apparently the money was put to good use as what NFI's committee has seen of it so far convinced them to grant another $150,000 to continue development of the game. Here's the description of the game from the announcement (in Norwegian):
Draugen is a first person adventure game with horror elements, set to Northwestern Norway's mountains and fjords in the 1920s. The game describes a dark journey into the dark side of romantic nationalist culture, seen through the eyes of an American nature photographer. The story, inspired by Norwegian folklore, fairy tales and Norse mythology, discusses the many dark secrets a secluded community can hide.
There's more information about Draugen on RedThreadGames.com if you're curious about the game. The page also mentions an upcoming Kickstarter campaign.

Impatient to see what gameplay will looks like.
It sounds like ... The Call of Cthulhu, it seems at least as obsessing as this "call of the sea".
It makes me think that a new game based on the Call of Cthulhu is in developpement. I hope there will be a GNU version.
