I have been really looking forward to playing Legend of Grimrock 2 soon. Unfortunately, the game is not available for Linux yet, and as it seems it's not certain whether we will see it on Linux at all. I have emailed the developers asking about Linux availability, and this is the response I got:

Juho Salila (Almost Human Games)
Hey Kamil,

Unfortunately we can't promise a linux port at this moment.

It's up to you to deduce how likely we are to see a Linux version in the future, but it certainly won't be soon.

Maybe, if there's a strong support under this article, I can send a link back to them and it might convince them a bit more that the demand is here. Or maybe you have better ideas. Anyway, this is really bad news for dungeon crawling fans. :( Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Well, I bought LoG 1 on GoG for Windows when it was on sale. Developers never mentioned Linux version, so I took it on Windows (I really wanted this game). After one week LoG was on HB with Linux version! Damn, what a surprise! So I was counted as Windows user and had to wait about one year for Linux version on GoG (I really did not want buy it again, on HB. And play it on Windows when Linux version was released? Heh...).

I will not do the same mistake again, sorry guys, I am buying only Linux games now.

Sorry for my bad English, I am little bit angry now :><:

I'm still hoping for LoG II on Linux. It just would be a shame if we didn't get the second one on Linux.

I enjoyed LoG1 VERY much. But if they don't release LoG2 for Linux they lose my attraction for ever.
IMO Almost Human CANNOT do this. It's like a slap in the face to release part 1 but not part2.
This news must be a bad joke!!!!!!
I hope Almost Human rethink their decision an don't turn to ALMOST EVIL.
Sorry for my words, but reading this makes me realy speechless and angry.

Just wait and see...

They wrote "can't promise" not something like "very unlikely".

That's actually my story as well, almost verbatim.

I love Grimrock, and will buy the sequel if and only if it's released on Linux. I would seriously love to play this game, but unless they step up that's unfortunately not happening.

I actually expected the same day release so I got confused when I saw it wasn't ported. If it was I would already buy it. Without a Linux port it's a no go for me.

It's sad to see a developer go back on Linux support, but... I was pretty disappointed with the first game, so it's not a huge loss for me.

It's uncertain if I will buy it.

I'm pretty certain that LOG was ported to Linux by Humble Bundle for HIB7 and that Almost Human had nothing much to do with the actual Linux port. So as other people have said, if they don't want our money now, play something else for the next year or so and pick up LOG2 for a dollar in HIB20 or whatever.
