Satellite Reign is the spiritual successor to syndicate, and it's looking fantastic. The new trailer shows it off very well, and it's getting exciting.

It's not clear yet if the Linux builds will be available in the Early Access release next month, so we have shot off a tweet asking about it. We will update this post if we hear back from the developers.

UPDATE:

@gamingonlinux we already have a Linux build up and running. It hasn't had as much love as the pc build but it is already on our radar :)

Going on my wishlist asap, Syndicate ate up a lot of my gaming hours back in the dim & distant past.

Grr. I wish people would stop referring to Windows builds like this.

That aside, I'll be getting this on day one. It looks amazing.

I had the opportunity to play this at PAX Aus. It's looking great :D

As much as I've grown tired of the top-down perspective: This will be one exception.
It must be played.

How do you give the linux build less love than the windows version when it's made with Unity engine?? Doesn't makes sense when you just press a button to get a build for linux, mac or windows.

There's a lot more to making sure a game works and works well than just hitting that export button (Unity on Linux is comparatively young, and Linux specific bugs have the potential to exist not just in Unity itself, but also in assorted middleware and code shared by the Unity using community). It's a good thing that they acknowledge that Linux builds need testing as well :)

I played it on three different Linux machines, and its hard to give it too much love - which is mainly because of "pre-alpha" bugs that do not disturb the developers. I guess on "PC" (yay...) these "rookie" issues were not there. I am a guy that looks into a heart for love, and I would say I love this game - even it has these glitches. But I also hope it will be in better shape once its released.
