Space Hulk Ascension is the standalone sequel to Space Hulk and promises a much better experience. The reviews are great so far, so it looks like it paid off.
There's a lot of content in Ascension with 100+ missions, and all new "Flash missions". An all new Space Marine chapter, more weapons and other tweaks. It certainly seems like a worthy standalone don't you think?
One review does note that the game feels a bit rushed, mentioning things like weird level design, not enough voice variation, a rubbish in-game manual and a few other shortcomings, but that same review does state the game is addictive.
About the game
Set in the isolated corridors and tomb-like chambers of ancient vessels lost in the graveyard of space, players lead a small force of fearless Space Marine Terminators in a ferocious fight for survival against hordes of predatory, alien Genestealers.
The standalone sequel to Space Hulk brings an all new and improved single-player experience for the turn-based strategy game.
Check out Space Hulk Ascension on Steam.
If you have tried it on Linux be sure to let us know what it's like.

Are there any reviews out for this title yet? I don't find any listed on either gamerakings nor metacritic. The first game did not fare well with the critics, so I definitely want to read some serious reviews of this title before purchasing it.
(and before anyone ask: No, "user reviews" are not reviews, just like personal blogs are not and will never be serious news sources)

Really enjoyed the first one which is even playable on an Intel HD4000. I don't understand why there aren't any reviews, the user reviews on steam are overwhelmingly positive. Full Control have earned my trust, they seem pretty dedicated to the 40K universe. I've bought it, just haven't had time to play it yet...damn

Quoting: Beamboom(and before anyone ask: No, "user reviews" are not reviews, just like personal blogs are not and will never be serious news sources)Leaves us between a rock and a hard place rather, since most serious news sources aren't serious news sources either--more like propaganda outlets.
In a similar vein, reviews are for the most part arguably not reviews either. One might make a claim then that there are no actual reviews of anything . . .
