SteamLUG November Linux Gaming Events

By -
Hey people! (Me again, stepping in for Cheeseness)

The Steam Linux User Group (SteamLUG.org) has its November events lineup available for anybody who'd like to meet and play with other Linux gamers!

Event times are in UTC (click on an event for local time via Steamcommunity.com) and happen at 20:00 (8PM).

All of our events aim to be accessible to newcomers and give experienced gamers a chance to play socially.

Events marked with an asterisk (*) follow a live SteamLUG Cast recording, and are likely to start late when we go over time.

Hope to play with you soon! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I just picked up a 4 pack of Guns of Icarus. The way it is priced it hardly makes any sense to buy just one! I'm giving out 2 copies right now, I'm holding the 3rd for a non linux gamer buddy in case he wants it. There are no "one of your friends wants this game" listed for me on steam right now, so friend me on steam if we are not already friends and let me know you want a copy!

It is downloading now, I doubt ill be in any shape to actually play with the LUG people this evening, but I'm going to try it out after some lunch, maybe I pick up on it quickly and feel comfortable playing with everyone later, who knows.

EDIT* OH, and while I am at it I have 3 Dead Island:Epidemic Beta gifts to give away.. I'm guessing they are just beta codes and wont give you the full game when it is done, but who knows. No Linux right now but maybe in the future?

Sigh. My desktop is currently out of commission (long story), and the 8 year old Lenovo laptop I'm using, while a quite nice and high quality machine, simply cannot run the SUG games on it (Tropico 5 started, then showed a black screen...), and, until I get together the ~$200-$300 to get a new mobo and CPU, I can't play many games. I'm jonesing for Borderlands 2...

If you see me on steam and I'm not playing anything let me know! I've been playing with the SLUG guys for the last 2-3 hours. I played my first actual game with them and they were nice to the n00b ;) It's a sufficiently pretty game and plays well. It doesn't take much time to figure out what is going on. Really good for a nice and easy casual Saturday.

So far no takers of my gift copies though.. somebody must want them!

Thanks for joining us EKRboi! Glad to hear you had a good time.

We also have regular practice sessions twice weekly for anybody who's keen on more Guns of Icarus Online.

Friend request on steam accepted and GoI gift sent! I kind of got hooked on it and played for about 6 hours yesterday ;) Once I get my chores for the day done I'll likely be back to playing.

I also finally tried the double action game last night. Good stuff, will join in for the SLUG event next Saturday if I can.
