Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: natewardawgI also picked up Chuck's Challenge 3D which looks fun for 75% off too at $0.74, but I'm not sure how good it is yet.
I've played that a lot and I think it's great. The Linux version used to have a lot of bugs but they have all been ironed out as far as I can tell. Hamish wrote an article about it when it launched on Desura a while back.

Waiting for Chivalry: Medieval Warfare to show up with the Tux icon... Snif!

Especially Deadfall Adventures looks like another AAA with good quality port for GNU/Linux. Not sure about the Warlock though, reviews don't seem to be so good.
I'm really enjoying Warlock 2 despite encountering some bugs. The game play is really well thought out and the universe is entertaining. That's a good HoMM-like if you ask me.
I like Deadfall because it reminds me of Return to Castle Wolfenstein in some ways, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

I bought Super Meat Boy at 75% off... Played it then realised I don't like it.
Bought CS:GO at 50% off... Halfway through installing I remembered I hate FPSs for the 30th time.
These sales really aren't so cheap.

Thanks flesk, I'll definitely be checking it out soon then :)

Planetary Annihilation is on my list of Kickstarters I am sorry I supported, Its my own fault and I will learn from that but PA is not even close to Total Annihilation in terms of a single player campaign and although the idea of the planets is a cool one but because of the planets curve (or what ever you call it in english) half you screen room is wasted... I don't know, the idea is good but the end result simply does not suite me at all. ah well :)

I went for Tropico 5 (half price). However I am really gutted as I bought Borderlands 2: Game of the Year edition about a month ago and paid full whack, now it has 67% off grrrrrrrr!!!!!! But in saying that it has been mega buckets of fun!!! Great to see AAA titles coming to Linux and I hope that they will prove popular enough to convince more developers to fund Linux ports :)
Happy Steam sale shopping everyone :D

As I keep saying to the wife, it's only saving money if it is something you need or really want. Keep an eye on games you fancy and then don't buy any others.
PS on Super Meat Boy, I didn't like it at first, but persist and it really does grow on you (well that was my experience)

Warlock2 looks very promising, but is still *WARNING* unplayable on Linux at the moment (it runs, but sooner or later you will encounter a bug that makes progressing impossible). Even the latest beta has some game breaking quest bugs but at least it doesn't segfault all the time. They seem to be working on it, so if you are optimistic pick it up now, just don't expect to be able to really play it right now.
Planetary Annihilation is also riddled with bugs and the single-player part is really unpolished and feels half-assed. Besides that read this first: http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2014/09/12/wont-live-happily-ever-planetary-annihilation/
It has a lot of potential, but me personally has stopped playing it as it really isn't much fun right now.
From my side a big recommendation for Crypt of the Necromancer. Super fun game (!), although it still lacks a bit of polish here and there and further development (for an early access game) seems rather slow.

Oh and Warlock2 is really much more like Civ5 and barely resembles a game like HOMM :p

Allow me to disagree. I didn't see any building tree, any spell book, any blacksmith to equip your troops in Civ5, gameplay elements which I consider are very akin to HoMM. There is definitely some resemblance, but I think that the core gameplay doesn't rely on the same elements as Civ5.
However, you are right concerning bugs in the game, but I have yet to encounter a quest breaking bug (still, they sure exist).

Defense Grid 2 is also 50% off and the first part (no Linux port) was great. Will check it out later once the download has finished.

I bought it this morning. Played it the first 3 single player levels. No issues to report on a 780 Ghz with a 4930K CPU @1440P. Fun game so far.
Still trying to survive more then 1 day in 7 days to die.

Good choice :) I have played Tropico 5 for 75 hours now. So far the game runs really good on GNU/Linux and it's really fun - definitely recommend it ^_^

Ok DG2 has a bit of an odd control scheme and it doesn't seem better than part one, but not really worse either. I guess a solid 70% title to rate it from the hour or so I have played so far. Runs on my Nvidia Optimus system with Kubuntu 14.04 really well also, so get it if you like tower defence games (at least at the discounted price).
