Aspyr Media have done it again! Civilization: Beyond Earth is now officially available for Linux, and we have keys to throw through the screen.

It's fantastic that it was ported as quickly as this, and the communication in public from Aspyr Media has been fantastic. Other bigger developers could learn a thing or two from Aspyr.

About the game
Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth is a new science-fiction-themed entry into the award-winning Civilization series. Set in the future, global events have destabilized the world leading to a collapse of modern society, a new world order and an uncertain future for humanity. As the human race struggles to recover, the re-developed nations focus their resources on deep space travel to chart a new beginning for mankind.

As part of an expedition sent to find a home beyond Earth, you will write the next chapter for humanity as you lead your people into a new frontier and create a new civilization in space. Explore and colonize an alien planet, research new technologies, amass mighty armies, build incredible Wonders and shape the face of your new world. As you embark on your journey you must make critical decisions. From your choice of sponsor and the make-up of your colony, to the ultimate path you choose for your civilization, every decision opens up new possibilities.

GOL so much win. You combine my two favorite loves gaming and Linux. So you hold a special place in my heart.

Aspyr creates games for my favorite platform. They create news for me to come back to GOL a beautiful cycle. Their ports are simply beautiful and amazing. Hope they can keep up the great work for a long time.

I love GamingOnLinux because you are so good in what you do that there is no competition to love :)

And I love Aspyr Media because.... well there is Feral but maybe it takes both to create chicken and egg at the same time :) You have my love for bringing perfect AAA games for still so small market. It is hard to believe anybody does that!!!

Aspyr, when they saw a CIV V thread devoted entirely to Linux users thanking them for the rock-solid native port. They are working very hard to keep the AAA games coming. You have to love a porting company like them, and I certainly do! Feral, too!

GOL is a site I visit every freaking day, because it's a chance to interact with other Linux gamers, because I find out about games I might have missed, and sales, and crowdfunding, and more! It is my favorite gaming site (and I visit a lot of gaming sites). I am hoping to write a review or similar article in the next year, to give back a little!

I would love a key; my budget:'( can't allow a purchase...it's OK if it doesn't happen, but I'd love a key!

Full disclosure here... My brother just gifted Beyond Earth to me through Steam. I don't need a key now, but I still love me some GamingOnLinux.com and Aspyr Media! Give the keys to someone deserving, like those other folks that follow GoL and Aspyr on social media. Wacka-wacka doo-doo ya!

Another awesome best quality port! Looking forward to future ports from Aspyr.

IMHO it's better playable as on Windows, but unfortunately it has the same flaws as all the Sid Meier games: many Bugs, UI Issues and a extremely stupid idiotic AI :/. I wonder how many DLCs we will need this time to fix this :(. But it's fun with friends in Multiplayer.
