Looks like Bad Juju's acquisition of Desura will pay off for us Linux gamers soon. They tweeted to let people know the Desura client updates are currently in testing!
Just heard we have an updated @Desura Client App in testing for both Windows and Linux! Should release very soon; mostly stability fixes

It's really great to see them deliver on promises, as Linden Lab really didn't do much for Desura at all. If anything Linden Lab ruined the open source Desurium project for contributors by forcing a contributor agreement, and so Linden Lab couldn't use all the changes if people didn't agree to it, and they didn't. Bad Juju have a lot of catching up to do.
It will be good to install the Desura client again, as the current and very outdated official client was riddled with bugs. The open source Desurium was much better of course, but it's also outdated and unmaintained.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Now this is good news! As a long-time Desura customer, I had begun to think that the company which inaugurated gaming for Linux just didn't care any more. Now I think that Desura does care, and it's a Good Thing. I won't be getting all my games from Steam, and that's for sure.
Thanks, Tony!

Quoting: HamishCheers then Mr. Novak for you and your teams hard work and admirably thick skin. :)
From what I've seen -- We're going to have to hold on to that thick skin for a bit while the dust settles and we get things back on track! In any event, my regards to you guys as well for hanging in there - Desura is once again on a good road and we aim to keep it there.

Hi everyone!
We at Desura will be releasing a Beta of the current Linux client tomorrow (December 23 - probably towards the end of the day). We could sure use your help beating on it, especially under different Linux environments. Anything you find would need to be reported to [email protected].
Instructions on how to obtain this Beta will be forthcoming. Please watch this space for further information. Thanks in advance!
Also, we really appreciate your patience!
