An interesting little game called EGGNOGG+ is now in its second beta and available for those who want to check it out. It's a two-player fighting game with a retro look and chiptune music that is simple to pick up and rather fun to try to master.

About the game
EGGNOGG started life as a small project inspired by a similar game called Nidhogg which hadn't come out at the time but featured sword duels in a pixelated environment with colorful and interesting backgrounds. In its current iteration EGGNOGG+ allows for two players to fight one another with swords, parrying, thrusting and even throwing their swords to instead trade blows with just a handful of buttons. The game emphasizes positioning and wearing down an opponent's defence and dealing a killing blow is a satisfying experience. As a player scores a lethal blow on his opponent, he is then allowed to progress to one side of the screen, where the arena changes to a different environment. Platforms, pits and other hazards keep the fights interesting until one contender reaches the final area and finally defeats his opponent once and for all.
There are plans on adding more content down the road but the game is highly playable in its current state. The dev has made the game available free of charge with the option of contributing however much you wish via paypal. Get the game at its official page here.

Oh and the name doesn't mean anything but coincidentally could be pronounced as "Buttery" which suits me just fine.
