Sadly, this year I shall not be out getting merry on rum as I have my little one now living with me, but it does mean I am here to post stuff.
I decided to leave our overview out of our Christmas post, and have it here instead to have a proper look back.
2014
An absolute knock-out year for Linux gaming on the whole, we have been an unstoppable beast that's for sure. We have a crazy amount of games on GOG, Steam, Desura, Itch and various other stores, and I simply can't keep up with it.
My personal game collection on Linux is bigger and better than I could have imagined even going back a year ago. It really does shock me how quickly we have built up our collection, and I'm sure I'm not alone in having a back-log of games. From the endless swarm of platformers, to the AAA games that are trickling in, this year has been a real treat for the fingers and mind.
2015
We have more games to come from Feral and Aspyr that's for sure, but what? I haven't been able to get much out of either, but I will keep pestering them for you!
We have the huge stable Starbound update to come, lots of other early access projects are due updates too, and probably many more Kickstarters.
We can expect many more indie games as well, and hell even GOG Galaxy should make an appearance sometime. That's going to be very interesting to see how it works!
I would like to take a moment to personally thank all the editors, contributing editors, article submissions, code helpers, irc chatters, retweeters, sharers and the like for being a part of it. Keep the shaing going, and the comments flowing.
We shall do an article overview of 2014 shortly showing off the most popular items of the past year, so stay tuned for that.
What are you looking forward to in 2015?
Happy New Year!
Ps. Final night for game nomations in our GOTY section.

I can also certainly agree with the comment about having a large gaming backlog, although in my case it does also have something to do with the fact I am increasingly having trouble finding the time and inclination to play them.
Hopefully 2015 will allow me to further reconnect with my inner gamer once more.

Thank you and everyone else for the Linux gaming news! Maybe soon I'll contribute more and put more effort in my writing. I'm thinking we need some hardware articles and I'm gearing up for it. My living room friendly gaming PC is in the works.

Yeah, I've had pretty quiet New Year's Eves since I became a parent too. Tonight I've mainly been playing The Talos Principle and having a beer after the kids went to bed.

That would be great. :)

This new year feels something like this...
2014, year of Linux gaming.
2015, year of back-log Linux gaming.
2014, year of Linux gaming.
2015, year of back-log Linux gaming.

Well, to be fair, I have had something of a backlog ever since the Humble Indie Bundles started coming out, and that was over four years ago.

If true, this would belong into our hopings for 2015, but who still believes all these announcements and rumors...

I hope developers and publishers will continue supporting Linux as a gaming platform like they do now.
