Update: Metro 2033 Redux is now downloading.
Original article:
Both Metro 2033 Redux & Metro Last Light Redux now have Linux icons on Steam, but they aren't currently downloadable. Looks like someone either forgot a switch or two.
Someone actually emailed in to ask us to notify people of this horrific scam taking place. Sarcasm aside, it happens a lot, and it's due to how many switches you need to hit on the Steam control panels or something.
Steam itself is saying it's out now:
Considering they are on sale right now too, it's probably legit, but the developers forgot to make the download completely public. We will update you when we have more folks.
Ps. If it was you who said it was a scam, please take this as a joke, really! We like to make light of annoying situations.
About the games
Both FPS games have been revamped, and this time Metro 2033 is available on Linux for the first time thanks to it using a newer engine.
Looks like you need 64bit too, so yet again it's time to upgrade if you haven't. They also require OpenGL 4.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
I get the Almighty Segmentation Fault right at the Deep Silver logo on Metro 2033 Redux, but i have no issues with Metro Last Light Redux...
./metro
Setting breakpad minidump AppID = 286690
Steam_SetMinidumpSteamID: Caching Steam ID: 76561197976761994 [API loaded no]
Segmentation fault
Doesn't work by launching it from steam either.
I put it in the technical issues forum on steam, so hopefully someone will get back to me.

Quoting: berillionsSomeone has a solution to change the game's resolution ?
There isn't this option in game ...
Whaaaat? :0 Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the options menu? If it's like the original Last Light I will not be pleased.

WOW! Color me impressed. 2033 On Very High, SSAA x2, AF16x, no motion blur, single monitor xorg.conf with AFR SLI and it looks fantastic! Advanced Physx is also working! I wonder if it is using the "new" GPU Physx Nvidia announced back in October or if it is using the CPU. Either way.. like I said, it looks great.
When they said to expect graphic parity with windows I took it with a grain of salt, but I think they actually did it. I will have to get some screen shots from both Linux and windows tomorrow after work and do some comparing, but I'm honestly expecting minor differences if any.
That said In the short time I played(30-ish min) it locked up on me twice so it is not very stable for me unfortunately and about every minute or so it hiccups pretty hard for a second. Other than that it is running 60fps no problem.
EDIT* It has been one helluva day for Linux gaming that is for sure.

Shouldn't the next mesa release (coming this or next week) include OpenGL 4 support?
Edit: nope, I was wrong for once: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTg0MTE
So, no buy from my side. I do support many a linux game, I *could* play (although I may not want to), but this I will pass. I played the first title years ago and couldn't now, without switching to the (rather unstable) proprietary drivers.
Not gonna happen on my arch systems. Don't have the time nor the interest to wait for the drivers to support the newest x server, so I'll pass :)

Just to make sure: I had hiccups with Talos Principle, and they're gone since I switched to performance CPU governor. Have you enabled that?
