Few days ago the remaster of Fahrenheit popped up on Amazon with Aspyr logos and penguins. Well, it seems that Aspyr is indeed behind the remaster and the Tux was put on there for a purpose. Behold, the next Aspyr Linux port is here!

This one surely was a big surprise. I don't think anyone could have expected this game to come out on Linux before the Amazon incident. I haven't played the original but I've only really heard good things about the game and the messages we've received from fans of the game since we reported the game popping up on Amazon have been full of excitement.

About (from https://www.fahrenheit-game.com/)

Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics and full controller support for all platforms, and is based on the uncut and uncensored international version of the game.

With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalementi, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike.

How to get some free keys
Aspyr has once again generously given us some Steam keys to give out to you. And we have this tradition of making you do stuff to get those keys. Of course previously we've often asked for reasons why you love us and Aspyr but this time we'll be playing differently. Because we are dealing with a thriller game, I thought we could ask you a question that's related to the theme.

So, what is your favourite thriller story? It can be from a game, a movie or a book but we are excluding Fahrenheit from this one because it would be too easy an answer. Sorry, Fahrenheit fans! And if you are not a fan of thrillers, what has been the scariest moment in gaming for you? Bonus points for answering both! (Bonus points may or may not count towards your victory.) I'm a Linux gamer from Finland. I like reading, long walks on the beach, dying repeatedly in roguelikes and ripping and tearing in FPS games. I also sometimes write code and sometimes that includes hobbyist game development.

My favorite thriller was Michael Jackson's!

Hey, I didn't know this game ! I will check it out, but not before an attempt to win a free key :)

First, the easy one :
The scariest moment in gaming for me was Amnesia : The dark descent, with headphones, at night, HRTF on... Well, I didn't finish this game :P

Next, my favorite thriller story ? I must say I am not really comfortable with this question, since it is not my favorite genre. I will take a light attempt with answering "Allan wake", but I didn't finish this game either, because it's Windows-only.

When this videoclip are presented in in the 80's, I was a boy and I could not see it becouse I was really scared, especially in the end when Michael turned his head and his eyes ....

For me the scariest moment I can recall during a game happened while I was playing Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem on the GameCube. Despite the title this is far from the scariest game out there, so after playing for quite a while I had been lulled into the sense that nothing truly frightening would happen. As many reviews had pointed out the game was very gory and at times a little weird, but not scary.

As I was exploring the bathroom in mansion's master bedroom it happened; a fast and brutal cut scene of my character's corpse lying in a bathtub full of blood. It was accompanied by a woman's scream.

The scene paled in comparison to the many horror scenes I've seen in games before, yet it scared me like no other game ever did. I can only attribute the intensity of this scare to the false sense of security the game had carefully crafted leading up to it.

It's a bit ridiculous:
I was quite young und tried out Dino Crises... I was so screwed that I stopped playing and finished the game years later. There were more and more strange tracks and killed people in a research facility and you have to go through the entire facility to do your investigations. Most times you were alone and only a alarm or the noises of computers were present. In every moment a raptor could attack you and rip you apart... It could come from a vent... Or jumps through a window where you would never have expected it. But the most shit moment was this (I think it is an easter egg): I you were too long in a specific office a T-Rex would break through a large window and rip you apart. It was a felt millisecond death and you can only survive if you stand in a specific corner of the room and even then you needed luck and lots of ammo to chase this beast away...

The most scariest movie for me was Saw, the part where these two guys were enchained in this tiny bath room and had to saw their limbs to get free...

The first time this game pretended to delete all my savegames scared me awfully. All the blood drained from my face.
Such a great and evil game. ;)
(I still play it about once a year with my hubby!)

Me, I'm quite partial to David Lynch's output, like Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks.

I'm a fan of the surreal and of Noir, and his work frequently hits those notes.

Shutter Island movie is one the most mind blowing thrillers you will ever watch.
A game that I loved to play was F.E.A.R. Pretty scary and with a rich story.

Excellent choice! Dunno why these don't register as thrillers so me - more sort of surreal mystery-horror in my mind! Blue Velvet particularly is just superb.

When I was just about to graduate from high school, I remember watching a few Anime here and there. Generally I did not expect much from Japanese cartoons, they are quite shallow when it comes to execution of story, often limiting it to stereotypical tropes and cloned adventure fantasies. Then I stumbled on Death Note, a psychological thriller that didn't hold itself back (well, I appreciated season 1 anyway). It wasn't the best thriller ever made, oh god no, but it was what brought me to not just thrillers, but to appreciate diversity and creativity in all stories.

The best scariest moment in gaming was when I found a playable demo of Doom when I was 8 or 10 one night with the lights turned off and alone with some headphones. Pansy I was, I know, but it marked itself into my memory to later revisit and beat when I was older. I do not believe I explored enough of the horror genre of today's games, but I am working my way to it when sales come around. I honestly never heard of Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy until maybe a few days ago.

Woah, dang that I finished the original just some months ago. Though, probably will get it just to support Linux gaming at some point.
This is an absolute MUST-PLAY for every gamer who loves games for their good stories! Just superb storytelling and enjoyable game overall.

Just beware of the amount of simon-says minigames - there might be an overload of those but they are nicely integrated so that they keep the tension up just in the right spot.

A gaming masterpiece in my personal opinion.

Scariest game for me was Silent Hill on PlayStation 1.

Everytime i was concentrade trying to figure out the puzzle, a damn freaking demon DOG, or the FLYING demon comes from nowhere and makes me shit myself.

I never managed to finish the game! *scary memories comes up*

Damn i'll sleep with the lights on tonight =)

If zombie movies can still be considered thriller.... so I guess I would go with 28 Weeks Later.... I love that movie :)
Gaming speaking, I like RPG Horror games so I would go with Ib and Mad Father as a close second :P
The scariest moment, through.... I didn't actually play many scary games, so I will go with Castlevania 64, the very first "scary game" I played when I was still a young kid.... in special the first moment when the werewolf appears.... followed by the first time I faced the big skeleton boss I guess.... well, I was tense for most part in the first level the first times I played it :D

EDIT: Come on, just look at those first 10 minutes and tell me it isn't great :P

Thriller? For me the film Seven - a great blend of crime and horror with a very dark ending.

But my scariest moment in gaming is from Thief: The Dark Project, I remember the first time I met the undead in an early mission - Break From Cragscleft Prison. Being a stealth game, I wasn't expecting a zombie to leap up at me, groaning, when I got close to it - scared the life out of me, still does!

I don't know which it is the best, but the first real thriller experience that I can remember that seriously give an impression was "Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller".

When I played this game, I was astonished by the animation scenes, CGI characters and voices but above all, the script. Without doubts not the best game I played but at its time (mid 90') was a huge surprise for me.

I have probably supressed almost all my memory of any horror-like events.

Oh, apart from Metro 2033 - I was too scared to continue alone when the other NPC was like "I'll wait at the town gates while you go venture into the tunnels" and haven't played it since xD

As for less jumpy scary and more mind-scary - Gemini Rue was a great game for that!

Unfortunately if I get the game, I'd probably not play it since I'm such a coward - so I'll probably gift it instead xD
