We have teamed up with Feral Interactive, who ported XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Empire: Total War to Linux, to bring you a fantastic new competition! Simply guess their next Linux port, and you could win a downloadable copy when it is released!

We are calling this "Operation Feral Penguins"!

Rules & Information
Utilise your tux telepathy (yes, that’s a thing) to guess the title of the first game Feral Interactive is going to bring to Linux in 2015.

Guesses will be read in the following places:
- #FeralPenguins2015 hashtag on Twitter.
- GamingOnLinux: Comment on our article here!
- Feral Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/feralinteractive/

The single winner will be selected from everyone who guesses correctly before the deadline.

The winner will not be announced until the game itself is announced, which will be early 2015. As the competition runs until mid-January, the announcement date shouldn't be too far after, so you won't have to wait long at all.

Deadline for guesses:

15 January 2015 at midnight (UTC)

Now, begin the guessing game, my little army of feral penguins! Fear not though, for I your penguin king am not in this competition for absolute fairness, and I don't even know what it is! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Since they said it'd be released early 2015, BioShock Infinite!

I think it is safe to say that we won't be seeing any game on Linux that relies on DRM platforms other than Steamworks (Uplay, Rockstar Social Club, Origin...) unless those platforms get ported over, too. I personally hope this doesn't happen and (as much as I'd like to play it) couldn't care less about GTAV if they will use 3 DRM-layers again for the PC version.

I also seriously doubt that Rockstar would give the code to GTA into the hands of an external company to port it. And I'm not sure if Feral could really port such a massive project (which would be the port of a port basically)

I think you are right about the non steamworks DRM stuff ATM.. especially because those platform have shown 0% interest in Linux. BUT, saying GTA5 is too big for Feral is not only harsh, it is naive. It has nothing to do with the "size" of the game for one, but for two I think they are getting pretty "suggly" with porting games to Linux at this point. I think they would know what they were doing ;)

GTA 5 would be sweet! It coming to Linux might be the only way I would buy it. I'm interested in it but 4 was a huge let down to me.

Funny, GTA 4 was the best installation of the game for me so far. Although I really loved the others, GTA 4 had the best characters and story for me. The engine wasn't optimized for PC tho, but my PC could handle it.

Anyway, time to guess/wish: Saints Row IV

Lego: The Hobbit?

That was my guess too. :)

Just remembered that I would love to see Age of Empires II and Age of Mythology for Linux, but I seriously doubt that any AAA Microsoft published titles are going to get ported anytime soon.

Damn, GTA IV or V would be so sweet... Even the older GTA III, VC or SA would still be wonderful (even though they work ok with wine)

I'm gonna guess it's Witcher 3. :-)

I guess (wish) it is Tomb Raider.

How many guesses can one have?
That's my second one: Far Cry 3
Edmene 4 Jan 2015
I guess GRID Autosport . But after the new Feral Radar signal will be a strategy game so Total War: Rome II.

Please, don't say non-sense, some people seem to fantasize some games but if we look at the history of the different publishers and the work from Feral, it left only few options.

Square-Enix shows no sign of interest in the Linux plateform but if there could be only one game which they allow (and fund) to be port, it's Deus Ex Human Revolution (audience wise).

It's more likely a 2K game and the closest to be ported is Napoleon Total War. The others possible options are Bioshock 2, Tales From Borderlands, Borderlands 1, The Bureau XCOM.

If it's from another publisher, it'll be hard to guess (well EA shows sign of interest few years ago but we don't know if it's still the case).

About GTA5, the game seems to bing for Feral to be taken care of (and and i don't think a Mac port has been announced yet even).
DissCent 5 Jan 2015
I also think it must be a game which they also previously ported to the Mac.

Wolfenstein: The New Order? Would bring back one hell of a nostalgia trip. Not into FPS too much, but I'm always up for some Doom or Wolfenstein.

Hey,

Would it be bioshock infinite ? I have it downloaded in my steamos catalog, but not playable. Aspyre arent doing it but 2K is allowing it to be ported, only other company I know porting to Mac and Linux is Feral, so I am guessing its Bioshock Infinite and its set to release Early January as well.

I don't think there is a game that would be "too big" to port, I've never met one so far anyway. :)
