Time is now up to add games, so you may now vote for whatever game you loved the most last year. Next year will work in a very different way too.
For this year it is whatever game you loved the most, regardless of when it was released. See the explanation on the GOTY page for details.
Next year will have multiple categories like genre, best update and so forth. That way we can cover games only released in 2015, as well as previously released game with great updates.
Percentages are rounded up to the closest, so 16.6 is 17. Just to make that clear. Just to keep things nice and round.
Go get voting, and spread the word.
Personally, I am completely torn on what to vote for.
The winner will be announced on the 14th of January 2015.

I think you need a 'finals' showdown - take the top 10 games after a time period (30 days?) then do another vote on the top 10 games ... otherwise the votes get way too diluted - with so many games! xD
I agree with this, the vote is too split now. Maybe 30 days is too much though.

Both "Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall" and "Dragonfall" are on the list, seems like a bug :)
Yeah the list could use some grooming both in regards to length, relevance and duplicates before becoming a public vote list.
But as Liam says, next year we'll do things a bit more according to the book. It's a nice start, this!

My vote went to Borderlands 2. There's simply no game I've enjoyed more both in regards to entertainment and sheer playtime.
But man, how I wish there were categories. It pains me to ignore fantastic releases like Xcom:EU, Transistor and Geometry Wars 3. I'd love to give them my vote within each of their categories.

Merged the two different Dragonrun items, sorry about that.
Will look to add in a developer of the year section too for this year (tonight), as I think it will be a nice idea, and it will provide the basis for the category system for next year too.
Next year we will spend longer cleaning up duplicate items that people named differently. It's not easy with the amount of nominations, and things just get missed.

Finished the regular campaign, and currently working through the Long War mod. This is easily one of the best games (and mods) I've ever played.

Wish list for next year: More votes per person, at least five votes each! :)You will have one vote per category next year when we get all that completely setup, but no more than one as i heavily dislike multiple vote systems in one category. I feel it's unfair.

We need more categories than that. I think we should follow the common practise and have categories based on properties of the game, type "best multi-player game", "best RPG", "best strategy game", "shooter of the year" and so forth, as well as the suggested "open source of the year". But an open-source game could and should also potentially be nominated in other categories, if they are good enough. I just think it is very right of us Linux peeps to have a dedicated OSS category. They deserve that spotlight.
It's also quite common to have categories that celebrates artistic elements of the game, like "best artwork", "best voice actors", and so forth. Those categories may very likely contain nominations from both major distributors, indies and oss.
