Noct looks like a fantastic addition to the survival horror genre with the rather unique game visuals. It has us very excited.

It will release into Early Access sometime this year, and you can see below why we are excited for it:

The end of the game-play in that video really had me excited to see more!

We asked about a preview copy to test out for you, and the reply was that it is being worked on. Hopefully we will get in touch with them again sometime about it.

Official About
Once our home and record of modern civilization, the Earth is ruined wasteland engulfed in perpetual darkness. Older than any recorded texts, and ancient evil desceneded upon our world without warning, consuming the population and leaving only despair behind in its wake. The unfortunate survivors of this purge now struggle to overcome the horrific terrors of the Nocturnal.

Noct is a 2D top-down multiplayer survival horror game that blends arcade combat with RPG survival elements. You are a survivor of the apocalyptic purge that formed the desolate wasteland now know as Noct and view your experience in the world through a thermal image satellite system high above the Earth.

Can't help myself but it gives me a feeling of somewhat less inspired knockoff of Teleglitch.

Like, I don't want to diss anyone's vision or anything and there's a good chance the game will grow into something of value, but my very first impression was just that. Simple pixelated graphics ran through heavy filtering and distortion, directly vertical view, lone survival against mostly melee opponents. I can't help myself but I had to check if it wasn't done by the same studio (it wasn't).

I was excited until I saw it was multiplayer only. I wish it the best but I'm a single player only guy.

I am actually signed up as a Linux beta tester for this one, so I am quite excited to hear that it is being worked on.

To be honest, I have a hard time imagining this to be exciting for more than a couple of hours before one starts to get tired of the very monotone view.
