Back in June and July last year, we wrote about Torchlight and Torchlight II possibly coming to Steam for Linux, and a little while ago more SteamDB activity was noticed.

Again, sorry we are late on this, but a lot of articles got built up since I moved houses and "stuff".

22 days ago this popped up on SteamDB:
Quotesavefiles/9/platforms/1: Linux
savefiles/9/root: gameinstall
savefiles/10/path: save/{64BitSteamID}/
savefiles/10/pattern: *.bin
savefiles/10/platforms/1: Linux
savefiles/10/root: gameinstall
savefiles/11/path: save/{64BitSteamID}/
savefiles/11/pattern: *.txt
savefiles/11/platforms/1: Linux
savefiles/11/root: gameinstall
savefiles/12/path: modsave/{64BitSteamID}/
savefiles/12/pattern: *.svb
savefiles/12/platforms/1: Linux
savefiles/12/root: gameinstall

Of course, it's not solid confirmation, but pretty good supporting evidence to suggest it will release on Steam soon, or a new Humble Indie Bundle will come with it in. Either way we are excited.

About Torchlight II
The award-winning action RPG is back, bigger and better than ever! Torchlight II takes you back into the quirky, fast-paced world of bloodthirsty monsters, bountiful treasures, and sinister secrets - and, once again, the fate of the world is in your hands!

Torchlight II captures all the flavor and excitement of the original game - while expanding the world and adding the features players wanted most, including online and LAN co-op multiplayer. Torchlight II is fast, fun, and filled to the brim with action and loot. Adventure solo or online with your friends!

Already got it for Windows, and this is a real beauty of a game, with a whopping 89% metascore folks. Luckily I'm only a couple of hours into it, so now I'll finish it on Linux. Sweetolini.

If it is a "real" port (and not Wine-wrapped) I'll purchase it again and give it to a (Linux) friend to support the work.

I am so happy to hear about this! Loved the first one, and always wanted to play number 2. I will defiantly buy when it gets released! (maybe even 2, make that 3)

Same as @stan here, I love the first TL, I'll definitely dish out for TL2 if they port it.

This is actually one of those games where I can safely move over to Linux completely because of how much I love this game!

Egad! Yet Another Game I bought when I was dual-booting. Maybe I'll buy a copy to gift to a friend, and maybe I won't.

Looked like it back around April/May. Not gonna hold my breath.

We'll see what happens, shortly after those path definitions were created, actual data was added to the Mac Depot..... The Linux Depot is still at "no size".

I played both TL 1&2.
Games with high potential, indeed, but WAY too repetetive for my taste.
