This song's lyrics are inspired from H.P. Lovecraft...

Interesting lyrics - they made me think of Darksiders, but surely there's another dev already porting that? Then I looked at the Wikipedia page for Master of Puppets, the album on which this features :

"...was inspired by H. P. Lovecraft's short story "The Shadow Over Innsmouth", whose main protagonist battles unearthly forces. It is considered the heaviest track on the album whose main riff emulates a beast dragging itself into the sea"

Battling unearthly forces, eh? I'm still thinking that this is Darksiders related! Which would be superb, cos we've waited a long time for those two to appear.

I think you've replied to the wrong guy. I think it's Darksiders, however @tuxisagamer thinks it's Evolve. I'm subscribed to the Steam thread asking for Linux support for Evolve, so I don't think there's a day-one Linux client for that game...

[Edit: Unless you thought I was referring to Evolve when I said "those two". I meant Darksiders 1 & 2]

I think you are wrong. Zero day linux support was for Dying Light, which has a multiplayer mode that is very similar to evolve. Evolve it's a windows only title (and ps4/xbox)

In the video game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion there is a quest titled "A Shadow over Hackdirt" which follows a similar plot to Lovecraft's story. Bethesda distributed this game as well as Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._P._Lovecraft#Games

Several video games are based on or influenced heavily by Lovecraft such as Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness, Shadow of the Comet, Prisoner of Ice, Shadowman, Alone in the Dark, Chzo Mythos, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Cthulhu Saves the World, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Dead Space, Splatterhouse, Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder, Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage, Penumbra, Blood (according to Nick Newhard, its designer), the megami tensei franchise and Quake. The MMORPG The Secret World is heavily based on Lovecraftian lore. In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn, the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora and his realm of Oblivion, Apocrypha, are both heavily influenced by Lovecraft.

LInux native Skyrim would be awesome!

I will take the "beast dragging itself into the sea" as the hint.... any guesses?
Please be Mortal Kombat X.... it needs to be Mortal Kombat X :P

Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu
... the Old or Ancient Ones, the Elder Gods, of cosmic good, and those of cosmic evil, bearing many names, and themselves of different groups, as if associated with the elements and yet transcending them: for there are the Water Beings, hidden in the depths; those of Air that are the primal lurkers beyond time; those of Earth, horrible animate survivors of distant eons.

So there IS a slight chance this could be a MK after all.... at least I hope there is.

Coincidence or not, I just saw this: http://www.gog.com/news/weekly_staff_picks_face_the_music
Is there some international music day or something this week?
omer666 16 Feb 2015
By the way, devs sharing Metallica parts, and even better, from Master of Puppets, are definitely AWESOME devs :)
DissCent 16 Feb 2015
"beast dragging itself into the sea"? sounds like Bioshock :D
metcard 16 Feb 2015
The last hint was clearly evolve. This current clue could be a number of games, but also fits evolve.
leillo1975 16 Feb 2015
I don't have any idea what 's the game they are teasing, but I only have to say that MetallicA is the best band forever!!!
ThePierrasse 16 Feb 2015
In Diablo III there's a magic mojo called "Thing That Should Not Be", but I don't think it has anything to do with this hint.
neowiz73 16 Feb 2015
haven't played skyrim in awhile, after a couple hundred hours played I feel i've done everything. Although if I can play it on Linux that would be cool. Might have to buy some expansions for it then. Although the idea of something new and different would be really nice.
