Magicka is a very popular action/adventure game that is set to have a sequel soon, and the likelihood of Magicka 2 coming to Linux just went up.
Speaking on their Steam forum, the developer noted this (spelling fixes: ours):
It's great to see more and more developers be responsive to our requests, but they are still just words for now.

About the game
The world’s most irreverent co-op action adventure returns! In the next chapter of Magicka, players ascend from the ruins of Aldrheim to experience a Midgård almost wiped free of Wizards after the Wizard Wars, with the few that do remain having either gone mad or extremely hostile toward all others.
To rid the world of evil, again, up to four Wizards, and their guide Vlad, will traverse Midgård armed with the next iteration of the famous Magicka dynamic spellcasting system, as players reprise their roles as the most overpowered, unpredictably funny Wizards ever known to fantasy!
As an all-powerful Wizard, you will have thousands of spells at your fingertips to experiment and defeat evil with, use them together with special Magicks to annihilate foes or give necessary aid to your companions.
- Combine up to five elements at a time and work together with—or against—your friends for that full Magicka co-op experience.
- Four Player Friendly Fire Compatible Co-op
- Full co-op support! All levels and game modes in Magicka 2 will be supported for four player co-op with hot join, checkpoints, and other supportive features and functionality.
- Friendly fire is always on, promoting emergent gameplay humor as players accidentally hurt or kill their friends in their attempts to annihilate enemies.
Remember kids, never buy it until then Linux version is out, or you remove their incentive to do it. We have been let down far too many times to risk your wallets.
Looking forward to it myself, the first Magicka was pretty fun.

QuoteYes, there's hope. :) It won't be a launch-day platform regrettably, but it's very much something we want to do.

Paradox seem pretty busy at the moment. Cities Skylines is in less than two weeks and Hearts of Iron IV should be out in a month or so and El Dorado was released yesterday.

Depends on which studio did it, afaik, Paradox is a publisher as well as a studio so I think they have different studios doing different games.
On El Dorado this weekend (aztec and/or Icelandic Norse Republic) and HOI4 when that comes out! Love them.

I just meant the company as a whole, I don't think they actually develop Magicka and they definitely don't develop Cities Skylines.
I think I'm going to make a merchant republic in malaya/indonesia :D.

At release it was pretty bad, but that was due to their choice of "framework" (too) ;) The game was released in 2011, of course today it's not running bad anymore :)
