This is mighty interesting, just before GDC next week, a new app bundle has appeared on SteamDB comprised almost entirely of Linux games, the only games that aren't on Linux are Shadow of Mordor and Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition.

The previous Guacamelee! "Gold" edition does have a Linux version, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for this game to come over either. Although, this game came to Linux thanks to a Humble Bundle, so who knows, maybe it's another Humble Bundle to come, we have seen leaks about new Humble Bundles thanks to SteamDB before, so it's certainly possible.

The SteamDB sub can be found here "Steam Sub 61756", and you can see a list of games. Safe to say it really caught my eye spotting Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

This could be nothing, but it could also be something wonderful. We know how easily some developers have accidentally hit a switch to give us hope for a Linux version, but they had to be manually set as a game for this app bundle, so while purely speculative, it could signify they will come to Linux.
There’s no other indication to say they are coming to Linux other than this, so it’s not a lot to go on by itself sadly, so here’s to hoping.

We have no idea what this app bundle is for, as it hasn't gained an official name other than the numbered designation of Steam Sub 61756.

With GDC going on next week (crap, it’s come so quickly!) we may see more game hints appearing, and it has me very excited.

I personally played Mordor on the Playstation 4 a while ago, and it’s an excellent game, so if it really is coming to Linux you can be sure we will take a proper look at it.

We will keep an eye on the Shadow Of Mordor and Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition apps on SteamDB to see if any activity happens.

What do you think this app bundle could be for? Something during GDC, something post GDC? Or nothing at all!

For those who dislike speculation, live a little ;) Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Was not initially excited about Shadow of Mordor when it launched, but should something like that hit the Linux gaming market, I shall hit it with my money as it has proven to be quite a good game. :)

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is another "only-Windows" title (is original Guacamelee, this game have Linux version, plus extras).

The way things are looking before GDC, I wouldn't be surprised if they just give a surprise launch like Sega did with the almighty Sega Saturn (RIP).

Those games wouldn't make a half bad Steam Machines launch bundaru, like the orange box but huge seemingly. Maybe these would come free with the purchase of a Steam Machine? Speculating my arse off here :P

I enjoy speculation when it's fun like with this or Feral and Aspyr ports. What I hate is bullshit alarmist stuff youtubers and certain game websites put out all the time as clickbait.

And "Sid Meier's Civilization V" with no price? What could that mean?!

Hmmmmmmmm...

Maybe Sid Meier's Civilization V will be bundled with the purchase of a Steam Machine?!

SteamDB Unknown App 344450 - First number is 3, so HL3 is confirmed! I can die now peacefully.

Last time I checked, the developers of Guacamelee had no plans for a Linux version of the STCE update. I don't think they would be against it if ported by a third party (like the first version) but it looked like they didn't want to port it themselves.

Maybe this package will be like a steam machine starter pack.

Let it be Shadow of Mordor. I wanted to play that so bad. Hopefully it will happen.
