This is mighty interesting, just before GDC next week, a new app bundle has appeared on SteamDB comprised almost entirely of Linux games, the only games that aren't on Linux are Shadow of Mordor and Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition.
The previous Guacamelee! "Gold" edition does have a Linux version, so it's not out of the realm of possibility for this game to come over either. Although, this game came to Linux thanks to a Humble Bundle, so who knows, maybe it's another Humble Bundle to come, we have seen leaks about new Humble Bundles thanks to SteamDB before, so it's certainly possible.
The SteamDB sub can be found here "Steam Sub 61756", and you can see a list of games. Safe to say it really caught my eye spotting Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
This could be nothing, but it could also be something wonderful. We know how easily some developers have accidentally hit a switch to give us hope for a Linux version, but they had to be manually set as a game for this app bundle, so while purely speculative, it could signify they will come to Linux.
There’s no other indication to say they are coming to Linux other than this, so it’s not a lot to go on by itself sadly, so here’s to hoping.
We have no idea what this app bundle is for, as it hasn't gained an official name other than the numbered designation of Steam Sub 61756.
With GDC going on next week (crap, it’s come so quickly!) we may see more game hints appearing, and it has me very excited.
I personally played Mordor on the Playstation 4 a while ago, and it’s an excellent game, so if it really is coming to Linux you can be sure we will take a proper look at it.
We will keep an eye on the Shadow Of Mordor and Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition apps on SteamDB to see if any activity happens.

I know it's just speculation, but I almost fell out of my chair. There's a lot of implications if this does go through as another AAA published title (a good one at that) from Warner Bros. Of course, and, I like Lord of the Rings and MAYBE wishing for something Batman.

Not a very big fan of LotR, but I guess from a RPG-Aspect I could like that game, so if it hits Linux, it'll be a buy for me.

Note that Shadow of Mordor has no RPG elements, it's more like an action game with infiltration elements. A bit of an Assassin's Creed with more action.

The nemesis system in the game is good though kept me busy for hours. You don't need to like LOTRs to enjoy this, the nemesis system alone will be enough of an appeal I bet.

While I too would love to see the game come to Linux, the fact that most of those games are on Linux doesn't negate that they are also on other platforms. Also, not all bundles, even from Humble Bundle, include Linux support for every game they feature. Having said all of that, I still hope you're right and I'm wrong.

I'm skeptical as usual but in the unlikely event that it does happen it will be the biggest release for Linux so far. Borderlands 2 and CIv 5 are abviously big but they came a bit late for Linux, while it was just a couple of month ago that Shadow od Mordor was announced GOTY. It's on my to play list (right after I find it me to play Skyrim) as I have utmost respect for quality games with full controller support. I'm lazy - sue me :))).

The thing is, we've now had some massive ports, it's not even close to being unreasonable to expect more. A year ago this would have been a much more sceptical post of mine.

Actually, i already was expecting this somehow. Their has been a certain (officially) SteamOS Screenshot a while ago listing Shadow of Mordor in the games which was bit like teasing a Linux port. As I recall the same procedure was happing with another game already ported (Civ 5?). And some guys were also connecting the Feral radar hints with Shadow of Morder. As for me I was already that convinced that I added the game to my steam wishlist recently, although I only buy Linux games.
Btw, I am also expecting Payday 2 because it was also teased on SteamOs Screenshot a while ago. Take a look at this:

Seriously, I can imagine that Valve is choosing the games for these screenshots wisely and not without purpose. Steam Big Picture mode is closely connected to SteamOS.
