Victor Vran is a promising RPG in Early Access from the developers of the Tropico games. We have it confirmed from a developer that the game will be on Linux too.
Previously, it was only a possibility, but now it seems to be confirmed.
This echo's their Steam statement on it:
Although, the tweet mentions it will be earlier than release, so we aren't entirely sure. Either way, we should get it eventually!
You can always tell the developers on the Steam forum post asking for a Linux version how much you want it.
From what I've seen it looks like a game Diablo fans will have an absolute blast with, me included. I miss high quality realtime RPG games like this on Linux.

i'm excited :) looks pretty good. it looks a bit like torchlight but i'm not waiting for that one anymore

Looks a lot like Diablo 3 visually. At one point in the video the protagonist is wall-jumping up to the top of some ruins to get to a hidden chest. I wonder if that stuff is done automatically on certain trigger points or if the game actually has 3D platforming elements. I hope it's the latter, as that would be a great addition to the regular action RPG formula. There is a lot of "combat jumping" in the video too, but it's hard to tell if it's manual or part of certain attack animations.

Interesting concept. But I would only buy this game if it is DRM-free released either as boxed version or directly for download on platforms like GOG.com or GamersGate. Not giving any cent for DRM-platforms where the game needs to be activated, even this is the only step to be taken the proprietary client for STEAM is needed!

you do your thing.. you are gonna miss some good games with that mindset though.
but everyone their own i guess.
i myself like to get games automatically updaded and so on.. and if steam dies some time in the future, those games probably arent worth to play anyway anymore..if some are for nostalgic purposes then i would probably use cracked versions or whatever since i already own them anyway.

Yes I would not cry too much over it because I barely play my old games and boxed games are extremely inconvenient they brake and you can so easy to lose them when giving them to others. I even don't know where half of my game DVD-s and CD-s have left :(

Yawn, another hack and slash RPG. Call me when we get an action RPG with Dark Souls like gameplay. In the meantime, I'll keep playing traditional turn based RPGs.

I will keep an eye on this, but I won't consider buying it until it is actually released for Linux. Not one day sooner.
