Victor Vran is a promising RPG in Early Access from the developers of the Tropico games. We have it confirmed from a developer that the game will be on Linux too.

@gamingonlinux not yet ready, but will be in one of the Early Access updates

Previously, it was only a possibility, but now it seems to be confirmed.

This echo's their Steam statement on it:
QuoteThe plan is to have both Mac OS and Linux versions when we launch the game. We currently don’t have specific plans for Workshop support. What workshop support do you think would be most beneficial to the game - creating player items, custom quests or whole new dungeons?

Although, the tweet mentions it will be earlier than release, so we aren't entirely sure. Either way, we should get it eventually!

You can always tell the developers on the Steam forum post asking for a Linux version how much you want it.

From what I've seen it looks like a game Diablo fans will have an absolute blast with, me included. I miss high quality realtime RPG games like this on Linux.

About the game (From Steam)
Victor Vran is an isometric Action-RPG with a massive selection of weapons, items, outfits, demon powers and destiny cards. Experience intense combat action with dozens of enemies attacking you from all sides and unleash powerful skills to finish them off!

Victor Vran lets you decide how to play the game. Forge your own personal version of Victor thanks to a vast array of powerful weapons, game-changing outfits, wicked demon powers and destiny cards. Use special moves, combine skills and weapons to wipe out hordes of hideous beasts and clever boss monsters.

Slaying demons doesn't have to be a lonely affair – team up with friends online and explore the story of the dark world together in a full co-op experience.

Check out Victor Vran on Steam, but remember kids, don’t buy it until Linux support lands. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This one looks really nice, and resembles Diablo 3 a lot.
Local co-op would be a must !

Quoting: BillNyeTheBlackGuyYawn, another hack and slash RPG. Call me when we get an action RPG with Dark Souls like gameplay. In the meantime, I'll keep playing traditional turn based RPGs.

Do we really have a lot of those though? I can't think of many besides Torchlight. There's Iesabel and Akaneiro too, but those are nowhere near as good from what I've heard. And if this one actually lets you use jumps to scale walls and plateaus, that adds a whole new strategic aspect to combat that would make it stand out from pretty much any action RPG, regardless of platform, that I can think of.

Quoting: Xpander
Quoting: throghInteresting concept. But I would only buy this game if it is DRM-free released either as boxed version or directly for download on platforms like GOG.com or GamersGate. Not giving any cent for DRM-platforms where the game needs to be activated, even this is the only step to be taken the proprietary client for STEAM is needed!
you do your thing.. you are gonna miss some good games with that mindset though.
but everyone their own i guess.
I am positive that Windows users think the same way of us Linux users, Xpander. :P

Looks great!

This certainly looks like something I would enjoy. I don't do early access but I'll probably pick it up when it is complete!

Quoting: Xpanderi myself like to get games automatically updaded and so on.. and if steam dies some time in the future, those games probably arent worth to play anyway anymore..if some are for nostalgic purposes then i would probably use cracked versions or whatever since i already own them anyway.

With the difference that you own none of the games or even the license to use on the platform - short conclusion from the EULA. :) And old games are also worth to play. But in this case you are right from my point of view: Everybody their own.

I know this is pre-alpha but doesn't look too impressive. Seems like a poor-man's Van Helsing.

Seriously looks good, but won't opt-in before the linux client is in early access.

The Tropico folks are a decent lot so I could be looking forward to this. I asked them about DRM free versions, we'll see what they say.
