I managed to get hold of the Contagion developers, and they confirmed the Linux port is still planned! We haven’t heard from them about it since June last year, so it’s good to see it hasn't been forgotten.
See below for confirmation:
About the game (Official)
Contagion is the launch title for Monochrome, Inc (previously Monochrome LLC) who's Founder is responsible for the award-winning and #1 played Half-Life 2 Modification, Zombie Panic: Source.
Eugene, Marcus, and other Survivors return in the spiritual successor of the popular Half-Life 2 Modification Zombie Panic: Source! Contagion is a cooperative survival horror FPS built on the latest Source Engine where players are forced to watch their ammo and aim carefully otherwise be overrun by the zombie hordes.
See Contagion on Steam, but remember kids, don’t buy it until it’s out for Linux.

To be honest, I don't care anymore. I've learnt my lesson tho.

I've bought this game in early access. Was really dissapointed, tried it once it was out of early access, still disapointed. Never played again, but if they do a linux native, i'll give it another shot.

I don't believe them, not anymore.
They keep smiling and promising while they do nothing.

Contagion is turning into another 7 Days to Die. It was promised within weeks of the Windows release - something about needing to buy a new license? Or needing the Portal 2 code? Ach, I can't remember. All I know is that it's been months, nearly (and feels like) years. I can't believe anything the devs say now.

Quoting: GuestValve had their Dev days awhile back, where they practically gave everyone the knowledge and tools to publish a game on Linux. Not to mention that Contagion uses the Source engine, which should be one of the easiest to port with Valve holding their hand all the way. I agree with everyone else, platitudes and promises have zero substance in this industry without something we can sink our teeth into every so often to show actual progress.
While I agree with the rest it really depends on the version of Source they've used initially.

I figure this is just like Black Mesa, which I'm pretty sure still has no Linux release due to the version of the Source SDK they used.

I am also rather sceptical, and will wait until I see it. No point giving them any more screen-time on GOL until they mention it without being asked.
