It seems pretty standard across stores that they take a bit fat cut of developers revenue, but Itch.io is aiming to change this.

I do love the Itch store, as they seem to be one of the few stores really trying different things, and this is another great initiative!
The “standard” rate on most stores is a 30% cut, and Itch.io has decided to set theirs at a simple 10% cut by default, but this is entirely up to developers. You could set your cut at 0% to Itch if you wanted to.
Have you been using the Itch.io store? It’s a gold mine for smaller titles.
They are also working on an Open Source client for their store! You can see the code on github which is under an MIT license.

Very good initiative and they may end up getting more than 10% on average.

It's too hard to find games worth having on there. I am sure there are some. But sifting through all the absolute trash to find them isn't enjoyable at all. It's like going to the local dump and sifting through the rubbish to find something good that was accidentally thrown out. This is where games go that no other digital store will take.

Well they've got a filter for Linux games but I agree with Skully, there's so much rubbish on there I won't be going there too often.

Well, browsing through those games was certainly entertaining, but like the others have said, it's hard to distinguish between good and bad games on there. So, can anyone with a bit of experience tell me should I get 'Cheek 2 Cheek' or the mildly educational 'Hurt me plenty'?
