Sad news for MOBA fans, as Riot has confirmed that LoL will not be heading to other platforms. It is a little confusing as always, since they say that dreaded "Mac and PC", but presumably they mean Mac and Windows. The optimist in me would think "hey maybe they mean Linux when they say PC", but I highly doubt it.

QuoteToday’s announcement mentioning League of Legends has generated a lot of speculation in the LoL player community. We’d like to clarify that our focus is on making sure League plays great on Mac and PC. No plans for console, mobile or other platforms at this time

I have never played LoL, so I don't know what it is like at all, but I know there's quite a few fans of it around these parts.

I was a massive Dota 2 fan a year ago, but there are so many better things to do with your time than get angry at random people. I do see why people love games like LoL and Dota 2 though, as if you can gather an actual team of people you know, then it's pretty fun, but it still doesn't stop an enemy team from rage quitting or being arseholes.

The usual 'Mac first' scam. If only FreeBSD had used the GPL licence we would be much better off now (no more Mac! :p).

Well, if we are to be pedantic even Macs are PCs these days.

Yeah, this is pretty much my point, but it's a dead argument as most developers don't really care about their terminology, it just annoys me with announcements like this, as it just confuses matters.

I really hate it when they refer to Windows when they say "PC", it's kinda ironic from my point of view. These days Windows restricts the user in so many different ways that you can hardly call your computer "Personal".

stopped to care about this game some years ago, all that huge comunity explosion totally ruined the pro part of the game for me.

No loss. Just play Dota, it's better anyway.

Or HoN, which is also a Linux supporting moba and was also a better game than LoL, it's just kinda ded at this point.

S2 Games is focusing on Strife anyway, which is a nice alternate to LoL. I highly recommend anyone who is a fan of Dota style games to try Strife out.

TOME: Immortal Arena is another nice little Free MOBA 2 lane style game on Steam, with a Native Linux client. Check it out.

Well good thing we have dota 2 then, far more polished and all heroes are free.
As for ragequitting, that is only in nonranked matches, in ranked you get penalty.
its just like in cs go you get to play with all the jerks until you rank up, then things get more serious
