After the influx of news recently you will already know that Shadow of Mordor is heading to Linux thanks to Feral Interactive, and the game is so good it has managed to win the GDC Game of the Year award!
Source

It will arrive on Linux this Spring, but we don’t have a solid date confirmed just yet. When we know, you will know!

In a PR email David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive said this:
QuoteMiddle-earth: Shadow of Mordor's immense scale, critical acclaim and well-deserved popularity with players make its release on Linux a major event. It is a monumental game, and we are thrilled to be bringing it to Linux gamers.

Feral will be releasing a mini-site for Shadow of Mordor on Linux when it's closer to the release date.

I have played it myself on a different platform, and I can easily tell why it has been given so many good reviews, as the game-play really is great.

After how well XCOM ran for me, and my glowing review of it, I have no doubt Feral Interactive will do us proud again this time around.

Finally, if you didn’t see it before; The winner of the Feral Penguins competition to win a copy of Shadow of Mordor was Hidekin from our very own website! Congratulations! You can see the official winner announcement from Feral here.

What an exciting time to be a Linux gamer! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I trust in Feral as well. I also love the fact that they ported XCOM as a 64bit executable, and I hope they ship Shadow of Mordor in a similar fashion :D

I'm so fucking excited for this one!
I was actually really interested in this back when it originally released, but I accepted the fact that I'd never play it ("Maybe in the distant future, when Wine is fully DX11 compatible..." ). This is definitely my favourite one of the games announced during the SteamOS sale (although it's not the only one I'm looking forward too). I'll definitely make sure to pick it up once the Linux version is out.

Do Feral have a store of their own, like Aspyr has?

So excited too... I also hope that Feral brings a few of the games they already ported to Mac, to Linux too. Like Batman and Tomb Raider

Where did you get your number? Steamdb says 951 (working), Steamstore has less than 999 (some games are not available anymore, did you count them?).
SteamDB LInux
Linux games are 900+ no question, so we'll hit 1000 soon (fairly early this year).
And of course also in games the quality counts not the quantity!

This is going to mac too I believe. What worries me is that they will target the same OpenGL for both platforms leaving us with an older opengl core profile so it either won't look as good or it will look as good using extensions and performance won't be so great. From what I did see of this on Windows it is a stunning game graphic wise and with the GOTY title the game was obviously good as well. I know they did a great job with xcom, but graphic wise this is in a whole other ballpark. Would like to see OpenGL 4.4 at least and used to its fullest potential! Guess we are going to have to wait and see.

I'll end up buying it either way because it has been a game I've been interested in. Was mostly just waiting for the price to come down because I wasn't $60 worth of interested so hopefully it turns out to be a fantastic port.

In Feral I trust. That's a 100 % buy as soon as it's released.
