Worlds of Magic is a good looking 4X strategy game that has been in early access for a while, but that ends now. The game has reached the point of a full release.

I haven't had a chance to play it yet with the recent barrage of games, so be sure to leave your reports in the comments!

About the game (Official)
Worlds of Magic is a 4X turn-based strategy game. Players can explore and conquer an almost limitless number of procedurally generated universes, using military and magical power to overcome their foes. Found cities, raise armies, research and cast spells, hire powerful heroes, and create powerful magical artifacts. All will help you in your bid to become the supreme Sorcerer Lord.

Customize your own Sorcerer Lord to rule the empire or choose a pre-generated character.

Select from 13 spell circles that will determine which of the over 400 spells your lord can learn.
Choose from over 40 disciplines that give your lord specific advantages or disadvantages.
Pick one of 8 races to be the first in your empire.

You can find Worlds of Magic on Steam. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

As always, I will wait for some proper video reviews before I make my final decision of whether to purchase a title or not, but so far I am 90% sure that I want Worlds of Magic!

I bought this game in early-access but I have managed to abstain from playing it until now.

Master of Magic, that this game is supposed to attempt to emulate or act as a spiritual successor to, used to be my favorite pc-game for a looong time. I have probably spent over 500 hours with MoM since v1.31 was released in 1995.

Lol, now I'm almost afraid to start playing for fear that it won't live up to my expectations.

I bought this last night after this announcement. I too am an avid MoM player, and so far, the gameplay has been spot on, no disappointments here. I've spotted some graphical issues with my mouse pointer, but nothing terrible. The one thing I miss from MoM over this version is the old dynamic score, especially the special track hits for exploring monster lairs, towers, etc. The soundtrack in WoM is a tad... bland so far (Though MoM's overland tracks weren't great either...)

After spending some time with this since its release, I've noticed more bugs, which I'll contact Wasteland Interactive's support about tonight -- Note: These are bugs I'm experiencing in v1.0.1, the patch put in the day after release:

Sometimes after defeating units, they will ghost on the world map. This can happen to one of your units using the charm spell. If this happens, that unit can be deployed in battle, but will not show up, and the battle will not end upon its 'death', allowing you to constantly hurl spells as long as your battle-mana lasts.

The AI's cheating is rather egregious, with defeated units reappearing on the unit stack the next turn if you are unable to destroy them all. This may or may not be related to the ghosting bug I mentioned earlier.

The game loves to crash during the transition from initial load screen to main menu.
