Need your fix of Worms? Worms Clan Wars is now available natively on Linux, and a massive sale too! Time to send in the exploding sheep!
I have extremely fond memories of playing Worms on my Amiga as kid, so this port pleases me to no end.
Did anyone else go into the settings and set all the best weapons to be unlimited...just me? The original was extremely fun, and especially fun with human players.
I look forward to kicking your asses online.
Performance
Game launches without problems for me, and I get a solidly good framerate through the entire tutorial.
Connecting to an online game using Quick Match also worked without issue! Apparently I suck too.
The only issues I have are sometimes buttons require two clicks, it doesn't seem to register the first click sometimes. The other issue is scrolling across the screen can seem a little sluggish.
Overall, it's very playable.
About the game (Official)
Worms™ Clan Wars brings friends and families together in the noble pursuit of self‐improvement, world domination and exploding sheep.
Worms™ Clan Wars is the biggest and best Worms™ game to date - more worms, larger landscapes, more dynamic water, more weapons and more customisation items than ever before. Worms™ Clan Wars is designed to take full advantage of next gen PC hardware. It features beautiful high definition 3D visuals (but still retains the classic 2D gameplay) with new lighting effects, new features to help users interact socially, exciting additions to improve the single player experience, and more of everything a Worms fan could want.
Check out Worms Clan Wars on Steam now! Traiter!

Good news at the Monday evening :)
Performance is good for me. I have laptop with Intel HD4000 + Radeon HD8750M, Ubuntu 14.10 with kernel 3.18 and latest mesa-git from oibaf ppa. I only played tutorial but didn't notice any bugs or else.

How does it run? It plays well? Has it bugs? We need quality on the games also. I don't know this game, but worms games are good.

Yeah, this is basically what I did during my childhood.
In recent years I've played quite a lot with other people (either on an old N64 or on the PC) and realised it's mostly about how good you are with grenade shots and with using the ninja rope. Or if you play on the N64, it's just about how the controller chooses to f**k with you and make you suicide your best placed worms.

Worth noting as well that online play is now cross-platform, meaning you can play with OSX and "PC" (troll) players as well. That was the major thing lacking from the last one they ported which a lot of people complained about.

^This is what held me back from buying the other one. Really glad to see that they took note and gave us this one with cross-platform multiplayer.

I will just stick with Revolution. Looks like pretty much the same game. They coulda just added some stuff to revolution in a DLC instead of making it a whole new game.
