Aspyr Media have been extremely busy it seems, as they have just sent off code to bring Civilization Beyond Earth up to the same patch level as Windows. The bigger news is they have been teasing a new port.

I know what it is (I’m allowed to say that, trust me I checked first!), and no amount of drowning me in rum or fattening me up with cake is going to make me break. You will love it though, and Aspyr’s commitment to our platform is something truly awesome.

There’s this particular post on reddit that will get a lot of Linux gamers wondering, and it’s where this teaser comes from:
Aspyr_BlairAgreed...been a little quiet lately. Mostly because its all hands on deck for one game...and I mean ALL HANDS.
Of course I will not be giving it away (wild speculation is too much fun), but lets just say its a game that has been asked for literally thousands of times. It's also personally one of my favorite games of all time.
I can promise there will be many penguin smiles out there.

I’ve requested Samsai to do a special live stream when it is released, so we can bask in his glory. Or watch his failure, either’s good.

Begin the guessing game, and join me in riding the hype train. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

kotor. It was an easy one.

I would very, very happy if Kotor and Kotor2 are ported to Linux, but I send a email to Aspyr asking for this possibility and they answered me that it was not in their plans

I gotta give respect to Aspyr and Feral with the work they have gotten done and with the work they continue to do.

Like Kotor after the android release, even before that people have been requesting that game

Kotor, thats why they started working on the port of it to android and iOS, they have stated than they are big fans of that game.

I can promise there will be many penguin smiles out there
Like what would happen with a Kotor port :)

If somehow Im right about this, I would feel bad about spoiling it before time, thats why I prefer to express my opinion here rather than on Reddit lol

Let me just list 5 AAA games that have been asked thousand times :

Alien Isolation
The Evil Within
DarkSouls II
The Witcher 3
Mortal Combat X

Games that we already know that are coming to SteamOS/Linux are:

Shadow of Mordor
Evolve
Batman: Arkham Knight
Total War Attila
Payday 2
Saints Row IV
Grid 2 Autosport

Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor, Batman: Arkham Knight and Grid Autosport are already announced for linux. And except Witcher 3 those are ported by Feral. So those wouldn't be a great surprise.

A nice guess, though is Evolve. It was requested so many times and except for the text on Valves SteamOS pages it was never confirmed.
My other guess would be Far Cry 3 or 4. And I thik it's an older game, because I imagine a new game being more coding than older games. But I'm really excited.

Bioshock? Obviously?

(Even though it was Feral who did the OSX port)

5 pages of comments and not a single Half-Life 3 joke?

Lot's of good suggestions, would be happy with any of them :D

Here the potential games that would come:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
DiRT 3
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Batman: Arkham City GOTY
Tomb Raider
Max Payne 3
Dishonored
Far Cry 3
Assetto Corsa

and Alien Isolation...
STiAT 14 Apr 2015
Still going for Dishonored. The engine would fit, and people keep asking for it.

FarCry is always an option, since they've been looking for people porting their engine for like ages now. Could be somebody stepped in there, and porting a AAA engine would certainly need "all hands on deck". And as I know they laid down their Linux-Staff, which either indicates they don't do the port themselves or decided not to port (which is not a very likely option nowdays except if they keep producing CryEngine only the platforms they support now). Will depend on if they decide to compete with the other enigines on the market.

I don't know what game it is but to avoid unecessary guesses, there are some interesting informations in the Aspyr statement:

"... and I mean ALL HANDS..."
It suggests that they are working on Mac and Linux ports. I doubt they would do so for Tux only.

"... It's also personally one of my favorite games of all time...."
So it's a game that has been available for some time and, as of today, a Windows exclusive.

Ok that still leaves a lot of choices but we have something to work with... Mmmm... Skyrim?

They have been wise to tell you Liam, they probably want to avoid another "Total War: Rome vs Bioshock Infinite" incident. :)

Oh no! Too many games to hope for, this is killing me! :(
Kimyrielle 15 Apr 2015
Another vote for the "I hope it's Skyrim" camp. It's an older game for sure, but there are enough mods for it around to keep it interesting for a while longer. Shadows of Mordor and GTA V, if I am not totally mistaken, are both games that force you to play a male character, so my interest in either is limited.
drmoth 15 Apr 2015
It has to be Skyrim. People have only been clamouring for GTAV recently, whereas in every rumour thread there's ALWAYS a Skyrim request!!
Larian 15 Apr 2015
For my part, Skyrim would definitely be a "Shut up and take my money" purchase (again). However, I am prepared to have my hopes dashed by the realization that he's secretly into Candy Crush or some other title I couldn't care less about.
KohlyKohl 15 Apr 2015
Homeworld Remastered was recently released and is a classic.

All hands on deck can be referenced in terms of space ships and I'm guessing there are a few out there that have requested it.
Shmerl 15 Apr 2015
Witcher 3 I hope.
Shmerl 15 Apr 2015
The Witcher 3 is coming to steamos
CDPR semi officially confirmed it, but never said who is working on the port. Official confirmation however still never surfaced. So may be that's it.
Keizgon 15 Apr 2015
Considering the context of the quote, it is a game already out and likely critically acclaimed. I also bet it's Skyrim (which would be awesome since it would be our first Bethesda title). Unless it's Bioshock 1 and/or 2. Regardless, I'm up for any surprise. :)
zimplex1 15 Apr 2015
Dream Choice: GTA V
Next Best Choice: Skyrim
Runner-Up Choice: Deus Ex (HE and/or MD)
Even if it's none of these it's probably going to be good, and I'll probably buy it.
