The colourful action platformer Freedom Planet now has been officially launched for Linux.
Offical About
SteamFight your way across the celestial world of Avalice where cats are green, motorcycles drive up walls and monster girls do most of the buttkicking! Freedom Planet is a cartoony, combat-based platform adventure that pits a spunky dragonoid and her friends against an alien attack force.
The game has been well-received and looks like it's worth checking out for fans of 16-bit era platformers. There's definite Sonic the Hedgehog vibes in both gameplay and aesthetics; the soundtrack is pretty catchy as well. The recent update/launch has also improved framerate and added wider gamepad support.
You can grab Freedom Planet on Steam or at the Humble Store. As of the time of writing, it seems that DRM-free Linux builds aren't available yet.

The voices...are hilarious. It reminds me of a Sonic fanart game.

Note that the Linux version is just a wine wrapper:

Oh and the name doesn't mean anything but coincidentally could be pronounced as "Buttery" which suits me just fine.
