Thanks to the machine that is Ethan Lee (a game porter), Gratuitous Space Battles 2 could see a same-day release for Linux.
Previously it was announced for Linux, but it seemed that it would be a delayed release. This could change thanks to Ethan:
Right, now that I have it working, here's why FNA updates have been slow lately. Should be a day 1 release! @cliffski pic.twitter.com/GtNzmfNol5

I absolutely love space games, and spaceships, and blowing stuff up. This has me terribly excited.
The biggest thing that has me excited is this:

My god, look at it! I might have to plug a second monitor in and stop hot-plugging my TV.
About the game (Official)
Have you ever wanted to be admiral of a huge, sprawling space battle-fleet of your own design? Ever wanted to design a fleet of battle-cruisers so powerful they can rip all who oppose them into space-dust? Ever wanted to build a battleship with purple rotating radars and 64 engines? Well we have good news for you...
Gratuitous Space Battles is back! and it's approximately 50,000 times more gratuitous than before. A completely new ground-up rebuilding of the custom 'Gratuitous Engine' gives the game a completely new look, with beam-lasers 10x as 'beamy' as explosions 10x more gratuitous.
The feature list for the game sounds amazing, so hopefully there will be good news to share in a few days.
You can find Gratuitous Space Battles 2 on Steam. It's due for release in a few days (16th), so time will tell. Be sure not to buy it until you see that little penguin icon folks.

I wanted to tell you there's someone in the Steam forums as well, but it seems it's just... you. :)
Mine is fine as well.
