Update: This has actually happened to a lot of titles, so it seems it's a Steam-wide thing, and not for Darksiders directly. Go back to wishing we had more info on it ;)

It's been two months since we last saw any activity regarding the Darksiders Linux port, and a few hours ago the Linux section on SteamDB was updated. Hopefully this means it will still come.

On the SteamDB page, it seems the Linux branches have been updated, which is the first time in two months.

Sadly the current developers of the port are being silent, and haven't replied to my calls for information. So all we have is the SteamDB activity to go by right now.

About the game
Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth.

Brought before the sacred Charred Council, War is indicted for his crimes and stripped of his powers. Dishonored and facing his own death, War is given the opportunity to return to Earth to search for the truth and punish those responsible.

Hunted by a vengeful group of Angels, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I read the title "Looks Like The 'Darksiders' Linux Port Has Been Forgotten" and was like "I knew it, they gave up making the port" sigh...

Thanks Liam for the update. One of the things I really like about GOL is getting these updates about promised Linux titles that have "gone quiet." I was literally wondering about the status of Darksiders only yesterday, and LO! Here is the answer. Keep up the good work. Love the site.

I doubt it.
It seems that just how the content size is saved in the depots has changed.
Similar changes are in https://steamdb.info/app/222880/history/ , https://steamdb.info/app/37100/history/ and other too.
But i hope i am wrong.

I'm pretty sure your right and Liam is unfortunately wrong.
There are really a lot depot changes at that specific time ( of non-Windows type?):
Dying Light: https://steamdb.info/app/239140/history/
Bioshock Infinite: https://steamdb.info/app/8870/history/
Metro Last Light Redux: https://steamdb.info/app/287390/history/
The Witcher 2: https://steamdb.info/app/20920/history/ (hints that Linux is just wrapped Win?)

To me it looks quite obvious that the port is cancelled because of 2 month inactivity. We shouldn't be that sad because there are many promising ports announced to be released this year.

Added a bit to the top of the article to clarify, sad that it seems to still be MIA. Move along, this is not the game you're looking for.

Thank you, Liam, for periodically checking up on games like this that are taking a ton of time to reach us. It's appreciated. Considering how long it's taking, it better be a good port.

they should let knockoutgames do the ports. shadow warrior is quite possibly the best windows to Linux port I've played, and the support on the steam forums by kog are second to none.

I have never heard of KnockoutGames before, but I am thrilled to hear that they are doing native ports, and really good ones at that. Is KnockoutGames a single guy like icculus or is it a team like Feral or Aspyr?

It's just one guy apparently.

He done an excellent job with Shadow Warrior.
